I'm a few episodes in, it's definitely a decent watch - and I don't usually like stuff like this unless it's Panther related.

my biggest take away is Mahomes, obviously all eyes should be on him - his every move. the guy is arguably the greatest to ever do it and he's only just begun. Mahomes is a very vocal leader, inspiring, lots of joking, complimenting, hyping up. the biggest thing he does is work with his childhood trainer. they work on some really interesting and simple, yet genius ways to keep his body flexible and durable.

I pray to Sam Mills that Bryce Young watches this show and focuses on those two aspects of Mahomes game. Bryce needs to be a vocal, edgy leader and I haven't seen that side of him. Bryce also needs to take care of his body and do similar resistance and endurance training like he does. No QB is safe from these defenders.

also, does anyone know if Bryce played any baseball? I have a theory on successful NFL QB's and one of my main boxes that needs to be checked is former baseball experience. Especially shortstop. The traits you develop from being a short stop aren't teachable or coachable and have major, and unique upside.

I'm not so sure it's a baseball thing as much as it is being creative with your throwing motions and adapting to off platform throws.

My guess is that they wanted some variety....which they accomplished.

That's what I figured. Cousins is the older, likable guy towards the end of a mediocre career. Mariota is a guy getting a second chance to become a franchise QB after being deemed a backup for a few years. And Mahomes is a football God.

Mahomes literally says in the show that he credits his baseball career to his "off script throws". Says those are "baseball throws" that he made as a short stop.

My impression of Cousins wasn't great. He is a guy who is where he is because of hard work more than talent, sure.  But he is garnering tons of credit for taking hits and not missing time.  For me, it looked more like him and Mahomes were taking the same hits and Mahomes never complained once and Cousins complains instantly any time he gets touched and when he's talking about it on the bench it's in a way that if I was on the OL would seem pretty blame-forward.

The explanation for the 4th down play was also blame-forward.  He basically didn't take any blame, and he talks about JJ being doubled as well as Hockenson being blanketed on a short route.  But he makes no mention of 1. Dalvin Cook on the other side wide open with no tacklers within 7-10 yards or 2. Osbourn is on the other side about to break on a slant RIGHT at the sticks.  For his explanation to even make sense he first has to admit "I only looked to one side of the field"

IMO, the separation of leadership qualities they show between Mahomes and Cousins explains why each of them is where they are. If someone wants to argue that Mahomes has more gifted athleticism, sure. IMO that is a product of his work, preparation, and athleticism that he created through approaching the game a different way.

Cousins has had an amazing career for someone who essentially defied the odds to have ANY success--but he also is what he is. Didn't really need his coach building him up over and over again. You make an 80m contract and force your team to trade or release dudes like Dalvin when you can't win WITH those dudes---I certainly don't think their ceiling gets hire losing the Theilens and Cooks of the world--they had to scratch and kick for that division win in their best year with those guys. That division is truly wide open now.

Yea, Cousins moaned and yelled in pain a lot.  Would go to the bench saying "I'm hurt."  Did not look like anyone paid attention to him.

Thought it was interesting when they showed some of the extra things each one did to prepare.  For Mahomes it was the intense workouts with his private trainer. For Cousins it was sessions with a psychologist and having chiropractors come to his home.  With Mariotta they mentioned his personal chef.

To summarize...1 worked to be better, 1 got help to feel better, 1 got help to eat better.

ye ole adage goes " Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"

except for he's on the level where he gets his ass whooped by everyone not sure what philosophical quote follows losing to daniel jones at home in the playoffs but it feels like the ceiling is the roof at this point

Maybe I watched something totally different than you all but I loved it

Mahomes at home with his family, playing with his daughter while getting the MVP

Watching all what Mahomes had to go through to get his ankle right during the run up to Cincy

I gained a huge respect for Kirk Cousins, had a placard on his desk "Honor God", the guy is a family man through and through who went through hell with the beatings he took during the season, the amount of pain tolerance he had was incredible

Mariotta came across to me as a mushhead, the moment he got benched he dipped

I thought it was WELL done and would love to see the next one with

Burrow

Geno

Mayfield
