PRIME STEVE SMITH

If we had Steve Smith in the Superbowl vs the broncos, then I fully believe we win that game. Let Aqib Talib try that cheap face mask on Steve Smith instead of Philly brown and you would've seen the biggest team fight in Superbowl history. Smith would've given the offense a spark that they didn't have that game.

100% we win that game with 89.  Only problem is we likely never get to that moment if 89 had been on the team that entire season.

89 would have completely changed the dynamics on the year.  The good time, dabbing, dancing, picture taking fun crew lead by Cam as the face of the NFL….would have faced resistance all season from 89.

If you look at the stats in comparison to his peers, (guys like Fitzgerald, Wayne, Holt, Bruce, etc). They all averaged 30 or more targets a season than Smith did throughout his career. It's actually a shocking difference. To me it's evidence enough to say that Smith is truly is a top 5-10 WR all time.

Had he played with Brady or Manning for any significant amount of time he would have embarrassed everybody else.

my cope is that he would have retired after 2014 and he also didn't have an Achilles at the time. but yes, that should have been SS final game. would have been kino.

What I think sealed the deal was when Smith said publicly that it was not his job to mentor the young WRs. Did that show that he wasn't all in on the team? I think so.

That's minor on the list of Smith negatives though. I mean there are much more detrimental things to rake him over the coals about in his career. That said, I'm sure being difficult to work with became exhausting, and was a contributing factor. Smith, Peppers, Cam and Luke have been the 4 players most feared by our opponents in our history, for different reasons.

If we had Steve Smith and Jordan Gross still we win that game no doubt.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
