Belicheat was a multiple winner.

Start with Holmgren, Shanahan, Vermiel, Gruden, Dungy and Coughlin.

So in the 10 year window from XXXIV- Rams to Pitt last year.

7 were retreads.

The 10 before that-only Holmgren was coaching his first time as a head coach.

I don't count Switzer because he coached at the college level and just showed up.

So in the last 20 SB wins. 4 were first time head coaches. I technically put Siefert in the same category as Switzer of inheriting a juggernaut and just staying out of the way.

It has as much validity as pointing out that seven of ten were won by retreads.

The teams that have had success with retread coaches have been the ones who hired guys that have been close to the mountaintop, but haven't made it. Teams that have hired past Super Bowl winners have found varying degrees of success, but have never found Super Bowl victory.

Can you dispute the truth of those statements?
