This was awesome. Shows you they never felt like they were reaching.

For DJ—they went to get a very specific need in our scheme & our board metrics had the 93->80 trade as a +22

These guys had specific targets they really felt that conviction with. Just loved seeing the Zavala and Jammie bits as well.

RB and an outside sized CB would’ve been nice but we filled needs and got legit talent with each pick.

Good stuff

I love that they had DJ at 93 and were willing to trade up if necessary. Makes me wonder how many other teams had him graded higher than the internet experts? He was the only guy that immediately felt like a reach, so I really want him to come in and kick some ass.

Enjoyed watching this.  It was good to see the conviction they had with their picks..  Liked it when Dan Morgan encouraged Fitt to "go with your gut."

Also noticed that the draft room looks different than last year.  Anything and everything looking different is a good thing.

Seems like Dan Morgan is on his way up.. would be nice to hold on to him as long as possible but he seems to have a good relationship with Fitt.

The draft room last year was terrible. Looked like they were in a hotel lobby

The other cool thing, and its so minor but when you have bosses...

When They made the trade and Mrs Tepper picked up the phone, well at the end of it all Fitt was like 'you made the trade'

Clearly Fitt made the trade and she knows it, but smart man to compliment the boss...

I certainly enjoyed it and I applaud the Panthers for not doing as many creative edits as some other teams have been doing with their behind the scenes videos.  The were honest about the QB search process rather than pretending it has been destined since birth that Bryce was the guy.  And they even threw in the footage of Mingo vs Bergeron.  Other teams have been editing out that kind of stuff.

Loved the scene after drafting DJ where coach Reich walked in and reminded them of the whiteboard scenario they had gone over in his office pre-draft that had Young then Mingo then a trade up for DJ.  Then camera cut to that whiteboard.  All three of these episodes have been outstanding productions with real behind the scenes information. Big kudo’s!

Fitt made an interesting statement after they drafted Jammie Robinson: “We are one team. We stress that. There are no egos here…we’re never going to take a player and shove him down a coach’s throat or just because coaches want him. We want players the staff wants to coach.”

This right here should get any Panthers’ fan fired up. Makes you wonder if this is what was happening under the previous regime. It appears the “square peg, round hole” days are over! I also like that Fitt, Reich and staff are not afraid to embrace players that have an edge, that “dog” mentality.

Can’t wait ‘til the season starts!

What else could you expect when we had a sloppy, shoddy coach dressing like a regular guy that rolled off the couch on Saturday to mow the lawn.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
