The names he's in front of says alot about his potential and what to expect this year with a good staff and highly talented QB. I'm starting to understand why we're not in the Hopkins race, simply because as others have said we need to develop our talented WR this year. A teacher like AT doing what he did for JJ could have a tremendous return on our investment Im starting to understand why we feel confident in our group Chark and TMJ with Hurst and AT being our security outlets. Are we under rating our Wr group? Does anyone think TMJ will continue to be an elite deep ball WR playing full time this year?

TMJ started coming on once The Chosen Robbie/Robby was sent packing.  I mean, the Rhule offense with these QBs was not the place to develop.  His stats from late last year are encouraging.

From 1-6, this is the best we have been at WR since 1995.  We have had 2-3 studs, but this roster has the potential to be really good--

Chark, Thielen--I give them a C as a pair.  If they stay healthy--maybe a B- to a B.  We do not have the superstar (Smith, for example), but I do not think we lost a superstar (Hard to say how good Moore can be with the QB circus here, but we will not feel his loss as much as one might expect.)

Mingo, TMJ--I give them a potential A- as a 3/4 WR combo.  I see two stepping up as bigger, physical WRs.

Shenault--this could be the difference maker.  a "swiss army" Debo?  If he does what I think he can do, he could be one of the great NFL stories in 2023.  Just watch what we do with him--

And whoever sticks at #6 will be better than what we have had in the past.

The WR corps as a whole is a bit better than last year, but lacking a star No. 1 WR will become very apparent very quickly.

I think a lot of that will depend on Bryce. If he’s as good as advertised then it shouldn’t be a problem. We have the right type of WR to adjust for every situation pretty much .

See, like I'd typically agree here but I really think it depends on the style of offense we trot out there this year. If they really are spreading the ball around like they say they will, they can find roles for everybody in a way that can maximize their production.

I think as far as depth, this group is better than the past few seasons because when you get down to the 3rd and 4th guys, they still can provide quality production. In years past I didn't feel that. I do think we're all banking on one of the young guys (TMJ, Mingo, maybe Viska) to unlock their potential and I hope they do because it'll make life easier for Bryce this year.

I really wish there was something out there breaking down Frank Reich's passing game so we could see how he's used his WR's in the past. That and what McVay passing schemes TB is bringing over.

All this potential is great but in reality we have a bottom 5 WR core.

My fear is we passed up on a true #1 in Hopkins because of hope in the young WR's. We are WR injury away from being in trouble at that position which is a concern given Chark injury history.

I just hope we know what we are doing at WR. Bryce is still a rookie it would be nice for him to have a sure handed WR who can bail him out like Hopkins can.

Mango better be ready to Tango!

Gotta love when the minimum is what the leader had. On one route, Hill had 54 targets. Elijah Moore was the best WR at comeback routes. He had an overall grade of 57.5, which sucks and he likely isn’t making the Jets roster.

We really are trying to hype up TMJ in here but a guy who’s touted here as the best deep ball guy in the NFL only has 1 TD and it was against garbage time backups when we were already losing by 35? I hope he’s as great as people think in here but I’m waiting until he’s not playing against CJ and Taylor.

I still hope Mingo balls out because I’m hoping for better than TMJ’s finish. I see all this TMJ was rolling under Wilks, but in the last 6 games he had 0 TDs and had 1-8, 1-18, 3-51, 2-55, 2-15 and 2-23 as our starting WR2.

This whole wr core is an unlocked treasure chest. Minus Theilen who I find to be essential in guiding them on field. It’ll be poorly rated, no one will care right now. But the untapped potential is severe.

The second we made the trade to #1, my #1 Free Agent want at any position was Thielen.

You couldn't ask for a better non #1 Slot WR (i.e. no Kupp or Godwin types who play mainly out of the slot) for a rookie QB than Thielen.

He's an ultimate pro's pro, runs great crisp routes, sure handed, he's the type of guy you want both leading a WR room and being that vet mind and safety valve for a rookie QB to be paired with.

I think he has 80-90 catches for 800-900 yards, with 5-7 TDs, which might sound like a lot on the surface, but if he plays 17 games, he only needs 5 catches for 50 yards a game to get 85 and 850, seems very doable.

In no way are we a bottom 5 WR team, as others have said, we might not have that #1, our depth at the position is outstanding.  Realistically we might have four #2's this year with Chark, Thielen, TMJ, and Mingo and an intriguing do it all weapon in Laviska.  I'd rather have 4 #2's than a #1 and three 3's or worse like the Rams currently have with Kupp and basically nobody else after him.

Yes, we are absolutely open up to issues if we have any long term injuries, every team at every position can say that, but this is the argument for not signing Chark with his injury concerns and waiting/hoping that someone like Hopkins would become available to us later.

And again, we are not a Hopkins away from being a legitimate SB contender, and the team doesn't think they are either.  If they truly felt we were a real #1 away from actually contending this year, we'd be going hard after Hopkins and we likely would have traded them a pick to get him before he hit the market.
