I’m more concerned with CB depth than Edge. I really don’t want to have Taylor and Henderson starting with Rowe backing them up mid season due to Horn slipping on a banana peel and Jackson being in his usual full body cast.

I mean, he is wrong if the implication is that it’s more of an issue than any other QB.  A couple batted balls in shorts is not indicative of anything. I imagine Brock Ossweiler (all like 6’7 of him) had a few himself, especially in his rookie year.  The issue with Young’s size has always been durability rather than height and batted balls.  Reich and others have already addressed how much easier it is for that to happen in the sort of practices they’ve been able to run so far.

It's a valid topic and it's not going away. People shouldn't be so sensitive about it.

The reason media is sure to mention it is because it's a hot topic. I tried to search for batted balls here to see how much it was mentioned last camp for Mayfield. I gave up paging through results and barely got back to Memorial day.

That was a good overall report by Joe Person. Looks like the Panthers should be trending upward in 2023.

Well said. I cringe every time I hear about batted balls when the o-line isn't allowed to block yet. Unfortunately, because of his size, it will be an ongoing narrative, even from our own reporters. And heaven help us if he ever so much as stubs his toe. The press will have a field day with that.

The starting tackles for the 2015 team were Michael Oher and Mike Remmers.

It wasn't Remmers' fault. He was a decent RT he just had an Achilles heel of elite speed rushers. That was exposed Imin the second to last regular season game by Beasley of the Falcons. For some reason, Ron and Shula just thought he'd be able to block the premier speed rusher in the NFL on the biggest stage of the game. Then Wade Phillips knew how Shula would adjust keeping in extra blockers so he just sent extra blitzers if their man stayed in to block to negate the help.

Way too many people blame Mike Remmers for that loss. That loss was Wade Phillips taking Mike Shula to school.
