Potential Quarterbacks Available (Thought Hurney could use a Hand)

Jason Campbell all the way

Clearly you don't live in D.C. I watch almost every skins game (forced to, really) and I can whole-heartedly say, "No, thank you." People complain that Matt Moore hasn't progressed in 3 years riding the bench. Well in 4 years as a starter, Campbell has shown only nominal improvement. He's not bad, but he's not good either. What you see is what you get, and what you get won't win you a Super Bowl

I think Smith can make some plays outside of the pocket, you are right about that.. but if you can't make the throws while inside the pocket.. defense's will contain, and force him to stay in the pocket..

He can make plays in the pocket outside the pocket is just where he is the best in the league. Of course you can't get him out every play but he still can make plays in the pocket. It allows a creative OC which we don't have some new options coupled with play action and our running game. But this is all a pipe dream with Fox and Davidson here. I would love to see Jim Harbaugh come in and coach him like he did with Josh Johnson. He would be very good at playing to his strengths.

My hope is still for a stopgap and a high draft pick. let the stopgap play while the pick develops (essentially the Steve McNair approach).

Most intriguing pro prospect for me would be if the Rams release Marc Bulger or the Jags get The Golden Calf of Bristol and release David Garrard. Beyond that, nobody wows me.

What I am hearing out of DC now is some people want to keep campbell because of his play as of late.

Garrard would be an excellent placeholder, maybe even get lucky in the playoffs with him. But I don't see them tossing him, especially with his huge contract. I want no part of Glass Bulger. He can not stay healthy of course with a better oline....?????

I would take Troy smith but..no way the bucs trade us Josh Johnson.

Unless for some reason they want to draft the TOP QB in this draft and use Johnson for a high draft pick in a trade to get other needs.

Trade for Dennis Dixon, probably get him cheap and could payoff with right offensive scheme. Bring back Dan Henning!

What brings you to this conclusion? If you offered a 5th or 6th for him I'm sure they'd take it. They (along with it seems everyone else) firmly believe Freeman is the answer. This makes Johnson expendable.

Nope (before my NFL time) but whats your point.

It was Chris Chandler.

Falcon fans used to have a joke when he was their QB. Which is better? An injured Michael Vick or a healthy Chris Chandler.

The answer: It was a trick question. There's no such thing as a healthy Chris Chandler :)

Speaking of former Titans, I'd also look up the possibility of getting Billy Volek (as a stopgap only, of course).

Or we could go with the ultimate in unknown commodities and pursue Jim Sorgi

I want Daunte Culpepper of any QB that could be acquired right now. Someone that could actually get the ball to Smith deep.

I think we have a lot of the same things on O that made him successful with the Vikings. I wouldn't mind this. Smith does remind me when he bails out Jake of how Moss used to bail out Culpepper.
