Nah, has more to do with not knowing where the throwing lanes are but height doesn’t help. There’s a reason that if he was 6’ 4 he would’ve been the consensus number 1 over all. But hey, let’s all pretend height and size doesn’t matter in the NFL.

I’m pretty sure was was the consensus number 1 over all. A few random talking heads might have said differently to gain clicks, but most of the legit ones had him number 1.

I'd rather have Will Levis, Anthony Richardson, or CJ Stroud. Young and Mayfield may end up being two peas in a pod of batted down passes.

Its going to happen to every QB every now and then. Its when it gets to be 3,4 and 5 a game where it will become an issue. He is no dummy, is no slouch and seems to me that he is a perfectionist. I have no doubt he probably lost a few minutes sleep over that one pass last night and will work to keep that from happening regularly. He will be fine.

I mean if you think being taller = less batted passes then you’re really mistaken. Big ass 6’6 Justin Herbert led the league in passes batted down last year with 24, second was 6’3 Joe Burrow with 23. Hell, Cam was 6’5-6’6 and he got hella balls batted down at the line, especially later in his career. 
 

It has much more to do with release point and finding throwing lanes than height. It’s ridiculous that literally one batted pass has led to 5 pages of conversation but I digress. 
 

Here are last years league leaders in batted passes. Lotta tall guys with a lot of batted balls, but hey what do I know.

Again.....it was one batted down pass out of dozens more which were pretty much all very much on point.

God you guys are insufferably miserable. Can't say a damn good thing about our new QB. Only show up crawling out of your fuggin caves to harp on the one possible moment you might find something where you can point your greasy fingers and say "yep there it is!!!! Proof he's too small and he's going to fail and I was right! "

Just go climb back into your holes, you fuggin trolls. And also again, y'all are just as bad as those idiots who hated the cam pick and only ever showed your face in here the moment he had a goof of some kind and started going "yep I told you so but you wouldn't listen! He's going to be a bust! "

At the time I wanted a taller QB as well but we got Young now and he is a very solid person and appears to be a great role model/budding team leader so why dont we all just get behind him and support him now. I think he will prove my initial worries wrong and will be a heck of a great choice.
