You’re wrong but you do you.

The NHL Network even stated that we had a press release ready to go.

Additionally, Shayna’s tweet was on the 4th of July, Tarasenko fired his agent on the 5th… not exactly many days.

Ok I was wrong Shayna was right and you were right, Tarasenko is coming to the Canes.

lmao

Sheesh dude… no reason to get bent out of shape.

Just stating the fact that Shayna was reporting the information she was given and she’s usually very reliable. Sometimes things happen after the fact and the outcome changes.

It doesn’t make Shayna any less credible.

Canes can get to $2.5M in cap space if they move Coghlan and send Kochetkov to our non-existent minor league team.

Could probably get Tatar for that number if we wanted to.

He’s a guy that could probably hold down the fort on a line with Kotkaniemi and Necas until Svechnikov returns and then you can put him on the fourth line where he’d probably be able to take advantage of easy matchups.

Well you are correct about the dates on Shayna’s post and the agents firing I checked. But you have no proof that they were just waiting on the contact-a press release is not a contract.

In any case I’m good if you see Shayna as reliable, maybe she usually is.

But my goodness just admit it. Shayna was wrong. Doesn’t matter if the sun was in her eyes and she didn’t see the ball coming, that’s just excuse making.

There’s your proof. And like I said, things can change. It doesn’t mean that the information that Shayna was originally provided with wasn’t correct and then became incorrect later.

I don’t know how long you’ve been a Canes fan but the same situation happened last year. Every pundit reported that we had agreed to terms with Mason Marchment and then Dallas came in and stole him from us. It doesn’t mean that all the talking heads were wrong, it just means that something happened and the situation changed.

The only reason I even said anything was because of your sarcastic remark about Shayna being reliable. Once again, not sure how long you’ve been a Canes fan but she broke the news of the Skjei trade when he was sent from the Rangers to Carolina.

Everyone has hits and misses but she’s right more often than not.

Reddit? Doesn’t matter. I remember the Marchment fiasco. Pundits do get things wrong sometimes I understand that. And yes there are reasons they get things wrong. But that doesn’t make them not wrong. You get it right or you get it wrong. Those are the choices.

why so hostile bro. take this energy back to twitter.

By the way, I make it a point to leave politics out of this forum. After all Canes fans come in all shapes and sizes and viewpoints. Sports is the one place we can all come together with a common goal, to see our Canes win the cup.

Its obvious to me by your comment that you have read posts on my twitter account and formed a judgement not based on sports. I resent you bringing that here. So please leave anything not sports related out of it ok?

The Reddit link has the NHLN video, that’s why I posted it.

And if you see everything in black and white then I guess those are your only options. But I’m of the belief that something can be right at one point and then wrong at another point. And if I’m not mistaken, Shayna said that ‘it sounds like Tarasenko is headed to Carolina,’ not that he is signing with Carolina. That’s an open ended statement that leaves room for something unexpected to happen in my opinion, and obviously something unexpected did happen.

Anyway, it’s a moot point now.

That’s true she did say “sounds like” which is why I took it as speculation while others here ran with it. In any case appreciate the discussion and didn’t mean to be the contrarian. I do reserve the right to be a curmudgeon in the future though my preference is to be a friendly one when I can manage lol.

Lol. What does this even mean. You don’t get brownie points for doxing yourself dude lmao. I don’t care about your politics, just pointing out your overt hostility.

You’re the one who brought up me “taking this energy back to twitter.” Fine if you want to keep our twitters out of it. just don’t open that can again. Never know what might come out lol.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
