Draft lottery talk

Coming from a Carolina fan, Mark Williams was the right pick and the fans got it 100% wrong in thinking Duren was/is better than Williams.

Most people stopped paying attention to the Hornets down the stretch as did I, but I still followed Williams’ progression.

To start off, Williams put up nearly identical numbers to Duren and was doing so in six less minutes per game. Duren averaged 25 minutes a game to Williams’ 19 minutes a game.

So what we need to do is look at Williams’ and Duren’s Per 36 and here’s where you can see that Williams was the right pick. Per 36, Williams averaged more points, more rebounds, more blocks, more steals, less turnovers, and had a better free throw percentage than Duren.

The Hornets got that pick right but as you mentioned, Nick Smith needs to pan out for the trade not to look idiotic as you simply don’t trade the 13th pick for the 27th pick.

What I don’t like is that Griffin and Branham were sitting right there for us to take and we traded the pick. Both of those players ended up having solid seasons.

I said they should have drafted both Duren and Williams. I agree Williams looks like a good pick so far.

Team leaning towards Scoot after doing more due diligence on Miller and something else popping up from earlier in his life. Don’t have details and was hesitant to post since it deals with a young man’s reputation but just giving the intel I received

This was my favorite post in this thread that also happens to be the most popular post.

Funny how people will believe a random rumor from a stranger and discredit the people who actually have real sources.

This should be a lesson learned take random rumors with a grain of salt. #MillerGang

Cool man. I’ll stop posting the stuff I hear and have gotten right. I’m sure most people would rather have your hard hitting insight and scoops like neither Thielen or Chark joining the team because of Charlotte not being Raleigh….

Far as I can tell there are very few people in this subsection overall let alone folks willing to share any insight from sources. Maybe focus your energy on other things and don't be a class A dick.

I’ve never tried to ruffle any feathers and just came on here to try and share some insights I hear since I don’t think local media breaks too many stories and national don’t care.

Even in this case I said I didn’t feel great about sharing but sent just to inform what I heard. I’m not sure why that’s offended you but I definitely haven’t meant to

I actually enjoy your insight.  A lot of which has turned out to be true.  Fug the haters.

So it's cool to make up rumors and get no criticism when you are flat out wrong?

This is all fun n games. If you dish it out be able to take it when you are wrong.

Nobody is saying he is a bad person. Im simply saying he needs to make sure his source is reliable.

Im not a insider nor do I claim to act like one.

Just show some accountability when your source is wrong.

You were wrong on this one. No big deal. I welcome you sharing your sources but I have seen other people get poo'd on because they end up being wrong. No hard feelings bro.

Im not.

Check the topics nothing but people shitting on Miller and a couple of us defending a innocent kid. I was willing to discuss basketball but all people want to talk about is him being a murderer.

I already wrote that I wasn’t going to pretend to be more in the know than other insiders who had differing intel and could definitely be wrong. You complained about that as well, so what would you like?

Other people also had similar insights (Shams, Fischer, etc.) that drastically changed the betting markets. I don’t think my post here flipped the markets so clearly other people heard things that people within the org were leaning Scoot.

Finally, as previously noted, I’m a big fan of Millers. I not only thought he was the better fit but also the better prospect. I gain nothing from providing what I hear and so I also owe you nothing.

For myself unless there's new information I don't see the need to continue to rehash it. But whether I like it or want to see it the inevitability is it is not going anywhere. Part of that is the seriousness of the charges to the individuals he associated with and the other part of that is the number of Hornets and now former Hornets players arrested the last year or so. Big picture this is just how it's going to go until Brandon Miller shifts the talk to winning basketball games. The owner and our GM/Staff knew what they were getting into when they did their research on this draft. They knew this would all be a distraction at least in the short term. Hopefully with Summer League coming up we'll get back to more actual basketball talk if the Hornets look promising like we hope.

    • What I really learned here is that the Carolina Panthers aren't anywhere near as bad as I initially thought they were earlier this year.  We've got a young and growing offense with some promising parts. But it still needs some tweaks and improvements.  We really still could still use a dominant #1 WR. But Chubba,  Legette, Coker,  and J.Sanders have generally looked decent. Bryce took a big leap after the benching. We can score enough points to keep pace with 2x defending super bowl champions, so offense isn't a huge issue. Main thing that needs improvement is defense. We sorely need a CB 2, and a number of new players at Dline and LB.  We're not quite as bad at edge with Wonnum showing promise.  But we definitely need 1 or 2 more edges Clowney is old.  Run D is probably worse prevailing theme these past couple years. We really need a good young stud or two to pair with Derrick Brown and another LB to pair up with Trevin Wallace. If Morgan and Canales can focus on rebuilding the defense this off-season and possibly going out and getting a #1 WR. This team could easily be somewhere around 7-10 to 10-7 and flirting with playoffs in 1 or 2 seasons. Overall this game has made me feel alot more positive about the direction of the team.
    • With our picks we need pass rush, lb, Safety, a speedster yac wr, o line depth and I still want a mid round qb. We got 9 picks and 8 in the first 5 rounds. If they pull Off another solid draft we be cooking.
    • We had one passing touchdown against the Giants and one passing touchdown against the Chiefs today. Yes a good backup can replicate that. And that is why Andy Dalton in significantly less games has the same number of 30 point outings as Bryce Young. I am on board with you guys about wanting to be hopeful for the future. Today was a good performance to build on especially at home. But let's please keep things in perspective. BTW the Bucs who honestly aren't even that good blew the doors off the Giants today after we went to overtime against them with 17 points. Again. Perspective.
