Draft lottery talk

He is a 3 and D player exclusively IMO.  He doesn’t have explosive traits as an athlete at all.  He isn’t a great ball handler or passer.  I keep coming back to him disappearing for whole games sometimes.  Not one NBA team wants to trade up for him.

Might be the case or that it's being talked about but Portland is staying put and drafting him (if charlotte takes Scoot) unless they get an high level all star back from another team.

There is no way you watched him at Alabama and came to that conclusion. He has plenty of highlights with him handling the ball and creating off the dribble. His handle for his size is actually pretty decent. If Jaylen Brown can score 26ppg without a handle that gives me a lot more confidence can do it with a better handle than Brown.

Also you really think a pure shooter would be in the discussion for a top 3 pick?

Obviously he is more than a shooter. I see him more as a Danny Granger type player.

In high school, he was a mid range shooter and finisher with poor 3pt shooting... in college he was a shooter from 3pt plus everything else and that surprised college scouts. Was known for court vision and passing in high school as well, so being a facilitator is in his game. That said, his game improved a ton in one college season. I just imagine him in a nba weight room with nba level coaching.

He's gonna be good but so is scoot, don't think they can go wrong and Miller is the better fit, so that's why I've said they'll take him. Same level prospect to nba teams, so you go with fit.

You said it there man,  his creating off the dribble is “decent”.  Danny Granger?  Ok, exactly.  Being respectful here but Scoot has some elite traits IMO…the biggest being competitive nature.

Different level players.  Now…Zion is in another world if he wants to be great.  No question he can be there cuz greatness is right there for the taking…if he wants it

I got a feeling Miller is going to surprise a lot of people. This kid caught my eye and I usually don't look for college players. I watched most of his games his ball handling is underrated. It doesn't look polished but he is crafty with his movements and it gets the job done. Something about a 6'9 wing with guard skills. If he develops he's going to be one of those elite wings down the line.

I have no doubt Scoot will be elite. Im just saying people are downplaying Miller. He's going to be just as good as Scoot.

Either way it will be fun to see how their careers play out. I just hope we take the best player out of the two whoever that may be.

It’s going to be a damn shame if Zion Williamson just fades away and doesn’t grab this opportunity.  The guy is elite talented and we won’t see many guys like him come down the pipe.

Something tells me that he doesn't live basketball like most great players do. Idk just the way he carries himself or something that gives away the fact he doesn't have that MJ/Kobe style it's mine and I'm gonna get it attitude.

Some people are amazing at running a sprint.  It’s the long run grind where they fade badly.

Joker has proven you don't have to love basketball to be the best.

Sounds like Miller had a good second workout in front of Jordan. If the pick is not Miller then this was a hell of a smokescreen.

I think he was the pick all along.

I keep mentioning Mitch was at his 41 point game at South Carolina. I think that game sold him on Miller.

Also I think people are underselling Melo as our franchise pg. The Hornets must feel like he is still the guy to run the show which is why they might pass on Scoot.

Melo and Scoot could be truly special but sure let's take Kevin Knox over Russell Westbrook

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
