I have no idea what we will do with Miles.

He's a borderline allstar talent and he's Melo best friend on the team. Knowing MJ he's not going to let him go for nothing.

My guess is we bring him back on a huge paycut. He was looking at a max contract before his off the court situation. Now we probably will bring him back for a lot less than the max.

I would prefer we trade him but teams aren't going to give us back anything of value.

I think there is decent chance Miles is back next season.  I believe in second chances but with what transpired with him, he has to be on a no tolerance type deal and situation.

As too the #1 pick, I am completely fine with those that want Brandon Miller.  He definitely has a lot of upside and is a fine talent and shooter.  If we were at 4 I would want to try to move up for him without question.  I am sold on Scoot Henderson and am sticking with my opinion.  He could absolutely end up being the best player in the draft.  Wemby’s slight frame is similar to Sampson and he had chronic knee issues that derailed his career.  Probably the only worry I would have with him.

For the Scoot supporters can you give me a reason why he is a better pick than Miller?

My reason for Miller is pretty simple. Miller is a 6'9 wing with guard skills. He can play 3 positions sg/sf/stretch pf. His versatility to play multiple positions makes him not only a great fit but also someone you can plug on any team in the league because of his shooting ability.

Scoring- Miller is already a more advanced scorer than Scoot right now. So not only are we getting the taller player but we also getting a guy who can score 40 on any given night. Scoot has not shown that kind of ability. I think Scoot career his was 31.

The only thing I think Scoot has a major advantage is athleticism. Athleticism can't be teached, but this is the NBA and most of the players are athletic. The thing that scares me about Scoot is he's a sg in a pg's body and his shooting is suspect. If we taking Scoot with Melo already on the roster it creates a problem fit wise. We already seen that combo with Melo/Rozier.

Quite frankly it would be foolish for us to take Scoot if the goal is to become a playoff team. Melo is our playmaker and pairing him with a sniper like Miller on the wing would make this team so much better in the long run.

I feel like either guy could work here. I'd rather go with the player that's 7 inches taller if it's close talent wise. Looking at these rosters of the last 4 teams left and playoffs in general no team has a fuging bench anymore.

Melo, either rookie, bridges, Washington, Williams is a solid starting 5.

The league seems to be entering a time of more parity because everyone's roster seems to be about 2 good players and a bunch of trash around them.  I don't think there's a team with 3 legit stars. If we nail this pick we should be able to be very competitive realitively quickly.

I heard a rumor we are sending our staff to Alabama to do some research on Miller and that off court situation.

Sure seems like we are really interested if we sending our staff out there. If he wasn't seriously being considered I don't think they waste time sending the staff out there.

Of course he is being considered scoot isn't a slam dunk. I don't think we'd consider anyone else besides those two though.  Maybe if someone offered a great package of solid vets and picks we'd consider trading but I think we should just make the pick and hope we nail it.

Saw an interesting stat about Scoot yesterday. While he shot 44% from the field over the course of the G-League season, he only shot 39% from the field since January 8th which accounted for 14 of the 25 games that he played in.

Games 1-11: Shot around 49% from the field and led his team to a 7-4 record.

Games 12-25: Shot 39% from the field and his team had a 4-10 record.

You could make the argument that teams learned how to defend him as the season progressed.

And for all the talk that Miller struggled down the stretch, so did Scoot.

That's what scares me about Scoot.

Fans tend to fall in love with the athletic pg's. They are fun to watch so I get the hype, but at the end of the day you have to be able to shoot consistently for the defense to respect your game. Miller is one of the best shooters in this draft and possibly the best scorer in this draft. This kid is 6'9 with guard skills. We just can't pass that up imo.

This 💯 if we didn’t already have an All-Star PG in Melo, I can see Scoot being the choice. His shooting concerns me, which is a problem due to our issues with perimeter shooting last season. The uncertainty with Miles Bridges and Gordon Hayward makes this an easy decision.

Which would be point guard or off ball shooting guard right?  Athletic wings are a dime a dozen these days.  The rare ones can defend and shoot the three. Which Miller sounds like but another Miller could fill that SF spot at 27.  Leonard Miller is 6'10" with crazy wingspan and young and raw. Just saying. Go best available then fill needs.

Yeah but we already have that in Kai Jones. Our problems shooting along the perimeter, the uncertainty with Miles Bridges and Gordon Hayward’s injury problems makes Millet a no-brained for us.

I just think Scoot is a better player and I love his alpha mentality.  The fit with Miller is good here no doubt.  I can definitely see both sides of the argument and I think I am coming around to Miller if that’s what they decide.  Back of my mind I am concerned LaMelo doesn’t resign here but we could cross that bridge later.  Like I said before Miller is a fine talent and if he is dialed in he’ll be a great asset for us.  His shooting ability is extremely enticing

I keep asking what makes Scoot a better player.

Miller is a far better shooter, he is the better scorer, and his defense has a higher ceiling than Scoot because of his length.

The only thing Scoot is better at is athleticism and passing.

More athletic, can definitely improve his shooting, better handles more of a playmaker and not just a stand still jump shooter.  Better in the open court, better passer and lead dog.

I said he was a better passer he's a pg he should be better lol.

Other than that im not sure why people keep saying Scoot is more talented. Athleticism doesn't mean anything if you can't make shots. Also Miller is more than a spot up shooter. Watch his film he creates off the dribble more than people think.
