So as long as he's better than Sam Darnold, that's okay with you?  Yeah, we are definitely on different planets.

Sam Darnold from last year.

Yes. We damn near made the playoffs with Darnold. For a rookie if he can be above average and lead us to the playoffs his rookie year I would consider that a success.

What's wrong with that?

Rookie year Young being better than peak Darnold would be a nice start. Throw in a better offensive staff and it would make for OROTR.

Exactly.

The talent we have and given our weak schedule. If Bryce can play mistake free football and lead us to the playoffs his rookie season I would call that a successful year.

Year 2 is when I realistically expect a big leap like Trevor Lawrence.

Trevor also had a talent issue his rookie year and a coaching issue.  So his big jump wasn’t just him improving.   It was some of it.  He would have looked better as a rookie if in a place to have success.

Bryce likely is put in a better spot year 1.

I agree which is why I have us winning the division and making the playoffs in his rookie year.

Year 2 is when I expect him to take it to the next level like making the pro bowl and solidifying himself as a top 3 QB in the NFC.

Year 2 is where I see the franchise try and invest in some serious weapons for him too. No good having a diva receiver as a rookie imo. But year 2 and the head of the team will handle a alpha receiver better

Maybe, maybe not. Never know what the draft process might uncover

His tape is better. His arm is better. His legs are better. He has the weight you look for in an NFL QB. His height is fine for an NFL QB. There’s no doubt in my mind if Williams could enter this class he’d be the number one pick.

Cam had his best passing season as a rookie with Smitty who was a diva WR.

You could be right but I wouldn’t bet my house on it there’s a lot of variables when the fine tooth comb comes out.

Still my opinion that having a diva Wr demanding the ball is not what’s best for a rookie QB to develop long term.

Im not even sure diva WR is a thing anymore.

AB was the last of a dying breed. TO/Moss/Ocho Cinco have long been retired.

Who in the league right now is even considered a diva WR?

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
