He was not going to last much longer if we didn't take him.

If we wanted him, and it appears we did. You have to go get him, or risk losing him.

If this guy ends up being anywhere near as good as AJ Brown or DK Metcalf he's probably going to be best WR we have had since S Smith left besides DJ. And really this guys potential could be a lot greater than what DJ here.

We've been starving for one of those dominant prototypical size WRs for a really long time. Missed really badly on Funchess and Bejmamin and several others.

Best case; Both he and Terrace reach their potential. It's been a while since I've been this excited over the young talent on this team. We truly do have the makings of a really competitive team. Fingers crossed.

Mingo tracks the ball well. Shenault does not.

I honestly think a lot of this talk is just people echoing what they've heard other people say or write.

Folks are gonna say "yeah, but that's college!" and I'll remind those folks that those games took place on the planet Earth so the physics of ball flight didn't change.

Going to give Fitt a fresh start.

By the way, just heard that when Mahomes was drafted someone (did not say who) rated that pick a C-.

A writer for the Detroit Free Press wanted to give the LIons draft a C. But because they were so excited about how many of the players they wanted, they actually got. He gave them a B- lol

No idea how to appropriately link this but Mingo looks pretty fast running here

Then again we saw cmc looking like superman juking out Luke in the off-season too 😆

I mean, if you're an NFL WR, you're fast. Some are faster than other obviously but they're all fast. I remember the first Panthers game I went to live. It was in the '02-'03 season vs. Philly (the John Kasay nightmare game). We we had upper deck endzone seats. Moose broke open deep in a busted coverage running directly away from us. Jake rocked back and let one rip. When the ball was halfway there I was devasted. Oh god Jake, you've overthrown him by a mile! Wrong. Moose had to damn near come to a full stop waiting for the ball to get there and as we all know Moose wasn't exactly a speedster. That's when I realized just how different these dudes are compared to normal people.

Makes sense. He was considered a bit of a system QB with a strong arm for Texas Tech that would make some head scratching throws. Hell he still makes those throws but they are some how completions.

Yeah, people forget but Mahomes really wasn't considered all that hot of a prospect coming out of college. Intriguing talent but the Texas Tech air raid offense kinda scared folks. Those types of offenses just hadn't been producing successful NFL QBs historically.

The 2021/2022 drafts so far leave a lot to be desired. It’s not a gamble, that’s where you are wrong. It’s an educated risk that Fitt hasn’t been good at yet.

I’ll drop a truth bomb on you, the FO you think is perfect isn’t. You may want to calm down a bit too. Getting way too agitated when people question the team’s actions.

Scary how some people like you act like the team can do no wrong and that fans questioning them is forbidden.

Sorry man, but there’s been a ton of better picks made by this community over the past 5 years than Hurney and Fitterer. Feel free to point out the day 2/day 3 stars that have impacted the team since Hurney 2.0 and Fitt have been drafting. I see Chinn and that’s about it. Maybe their board needs work because when we were at our best, we had a lot of day 2/3 impact players.

fug you are an fricking idiot. You can't read, and you make assumptions.  There really isn't any reason talking to an idiot of your qualifications,  as you don't know your head from your ass.

I never said our front office was perfect. I never even claimed they were any good.

I defended their picks, because they got guys off their board at values they deem good.

Doesn't matter what you, me, or ANYBODY thinks 2 weeks after the draft.

You don't like their picks. Welcome to the club.  This team has never picked guys I wanted with very few exceptions.

I thought about leaving the first paragraph off, but you're so wrong about me, I can't believe you post the poo you post.

One thing about it, all you really have to do is look at a heat map of Shenault's catches the last couple of years, and also ask yourself why he was traded to see if there is any validity to the issue. I provided you last time with people who had not only watched tape but actual games, but it's your right to continue to believe what you want.

I seriously doubt that Fitterer and Reich would draft at pick 39 a receiver that we already had for all intents and purposes, especially since Shenault is only 24 years old.

I agree.    I'm not sure why he was traded or why we didn't use him more.  We saw some impressive play from him and he clearly has had success downfield.  He was our highest pff rated player on O last year.

We are missing something.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
