The hype for this kid is getting unreal. Like above Burrow level.

Well thats because lots of people see Burrow like potential in Bryce.  Young has been the de-facto best QB in college football since Burrow left NCAA, so it would only be natural that he's next in line.  Hell, if Bryce were 6 foot 2 or taller, he would have been the slam dunk, no doubt 1st pick, and be hailed as the next generational Luch/Burrow/Lawrence type guy.  I believe hes that damn good.

He seems to be getting the standard "1st overall pick QB" hype...not sure what you mean.  Maybe less because he's not considered a generational slam-dunk type prospect like a Trevor Lawrence/Andrew Luck.

Cam wasn't either.

I think the best QB in college has been Caleb Williams. I like Bryce. I think he has potential. But everyone keeps talking as if he is the smartest player in the league. I think we might be setting the kid up for a bit of false expectations.

Well, to be fair. Maybe he was watching in slow motion. lol

I'll admit I gave Bryce a hard time during the draft process. But it was mostly just his size, not in how he played the game. The kid is exciting. He is just wee. And that does scare a lot of us.

Just to clarify for the record...you did kind of create an entire thread around questioning Young's processing speed because of his Time to Throw metric.  You also said he has no zip on his passes...he's got an average arm...average speed...average athleticism...so basically all the same criticisms verbatim that you're making fun of this guy for.  But carry on...I'm glad you've come around.

LOL for the record. Is this going on my Permanent Record?

The most important part of this is the fact that I said if Bryce was the target, I would get on board. And I did,

Who cares what is said during the draft process? I didn't want him, and I made fun of him. How dare me? He is now a Panther and I will defend and support him. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Caleb Williams is great and probably goes above Young in this draft if he was eligible. Lincoln Riley does make a lot of QBs look better than they do in the Pros with Baker and Kyler. Personally I like Bryce’s demeanor a lot. I couldn’t imagine him putting “fug UGA” on his knuckles and then losing to them. To me Caleb wants to have more fun playing the game similar to Cam while Young just wants to win and execute similar to a Manning/Brees. Both ways can be affective though.

There are plenty of ways to try to reach your potential as a QB. I'll take the QB that lives in the film room every time.

I swear Caleb looks like a Mahomes clone. Not sure if he will be as great as Mahomes but he definitely looks like a college version of him.

He absolutely is the #1 pick if he was in this year's draft class.

As long as he puts in the time like Mahomes he should be great. I know Young will put in the time. You are right though he would get drafted over Young due to size and arm strength.

Man, if Bryce struggles, you know we are going to get those "We shoulda waited a year to grab out QB" threads. lol

I’ll agree with that. However, I don’t think Caleb Williams performs at the level he does without being a killer in the film room, too. If he’s dominated this much, and played at such an elite level without a film centric work ethic the NFL team that gets him is going to unlock something absolutely monstrous. He’s got better completion percent, better air yards per throw, a better TD to INT ratio, better rating than Bryce and then when you factor in what he does with his legs… if he doesn’t fall off this year the hype for him next year is likely going to eclipse the Lawrence hype and Burrow hype for top pick.

Hey, you don't have to sell me. I'm a huge Caleb fan. I'm just saying, as much as I believe in Bryce, if he does struggle? It could get very interesting up in here.

Edit to add; I have no fear that this staff will get the best out of Bryce. I truly believe we have our guy.

I think we have our guy as well. I always felt whoever was lucky enough to get drafted by us was going to succeed with this coaching staff.

Yeah, this franchise, for maybe the first time ever, is set up like a successful franchise should be. A mix of youth with some elder statesmen thrown in. Lots of experience. The window is defiantly wide azz open right now.
