As a watcher of football for 40 plus years, Mayfield could get out of his own way here.  I'm also perfectly okay with him being okay as a buc. We have our QB.

You know he's right about Baker being the best prospect, even better than Young. Had we kept Baker we would have won the SB this season as he is that good.

If he wasn’t out played by PJ Walker AND Sam Darnold last year I may be inclined to agree. But his play spoke for itself. He’s JAG. Maybe worse.

No real surprise that the Bucs and 49ers will talk up Mayfield/Darnold to try to get the fans pumped up. Teams do that with any kind of player that gets added. It’s not like these franchises were the ones who gave up 4 picks between these two guys lmao

It’s all a play in words.  Rated higher at the time of draft.  He could have said he had Baker rated higher than Tom Brady.

Lets be serious here. He’s one of the worst starting QBs in the league. He used to be decent and he had a lot of promise, but he’s gun shy now, and his confidence has been shattered. Good luck fixing that.

I'd still rather have Darnold with this coaching staff than Bryce Young. He's had two of the worst coaching staff's in the NFL in the past 23 years.

Guess we made two mistakes.  Supposedly Baker and Darnold are great. I didn't see it.   Yeah the offense was vanilla but if PJ, Baker, Darnold couldn't score I think it's on them.

I will bump this after he sweeps us, like most ex Panthers do , and he wasn't gun shy when he led the Rams to a last minute td 2 days from signing with them 

Nobody should judge a players abilities while they were under Matt Fool and Macadoodo, they could make Mahommes and Brady look bad , Darnold even looked like a different QB when Wilks was calling the shots 

I am not saying we shouldn't have let him go, I am saying Panther fans shouldn't be so cocky , when our QB is going to need help to stay alive, and there are 2 playoff QBs in the division,and for all we know Brady will not do so good in the broadcast booth, and unretire and sign with the Falcons
