Panthers Fans Never Learn

Ben was wrong. When something good happens for a pessimist they think it won't last and you can't be happy because now something bad will be next. Where an optimist will take a good thing be happy and expect more good things will happen.

If you have to be a pessimist so you don't get disappointed you clearly aren't resilient likely have low frustration tolerance and are emotionally immature.  I am an optimist and find my life is good and I can root for the Panthers and deal with losses or wins with little problem. Part of being an optimist is looking for the positives even in bad situations and choosing your attitude in spite of circumstances. Whereas pessimists stay unhappy and manage to see the negative in every situation.

No thanks....

That guy you responded to is doing the following video. He was the same exact everything is always fine and will work out fan and is now doing the same disgusted fan bit.

Then your point was missing the mark from the very beginning. Nothing stops people from being reactionary, especially diehard sports fans.

Stopping fans from being reactionary is like saying you're going to reinvent the wheel. Sounds good, but everyone knows you are going to fail. lol

I will always be an optimistic, hopeful fan. It's my nature although it was tested by Rhule. @Sgt Schultz, I fully understand. My hockey team is the Buffalo Sabres. Never won a Cup (many years of being last in the NHL), missed the playoffs by 2 points (1 win) this year. Panthers missed the playoffs last year by 1 win. That's how things go in fandoms. I'm not even sure the Panthers end with a winning record this year but that's not the point. The point is that we have a future to look forward to.

FWIW, I'm still ticked off at Brett Hull.

I’m generally optimistic about most things in my life. The Panthers are not one of them…

The Panthers are also out of our control, so why expect that much from them anyways?

you literally just answered your own question bro.

why get so worked up over something you have no control of? why question someone for being optimistic about something they have no control over and literally just watch for entertainment purposes only?

if I don't like a TV show, a movie, a concert, an album, a team, I just don't watch it. I don't get worked up over it and question other people that do enjoy watching it.

part of growing up bud, wishing you the best!

Then why are you a Panthers fan. Football is entertainment. If it impacts you negatively then maybe you need to stop watching the Panthers.

It may be time for you to move on.

Either jump on the bandwagon or walk away from it.

But right now all any of us see is someone who's probably better off bailing.

If you find that you are always upset because people or things don't meet your expectations, then lower your expectations and you will be happier. That doesn't mean you can't hope that the Panthers are much improved just don't expect it and then when we are you will be much happier. And if you are pessimistic you are expecting bad things that is much different from lowering your expectations.

I never said that I was giving up on this team

I know, but you probably should. You obviously get no enjoyment out of them. How could you? I mean in your eyes they just suck and are a failure of a team destined to win 3 games.

Seriously, why bother?

This thread makes me think of the phrase, "misery loves company" but what we're finding out is misery is desperate for company.

This miserable panther fan's mission with this thread is to get more fans to be as miserable as the they are.
