Imo, immediate reaction:

Bryce: A

Mingo: A-

Johnson: B-

Zavala: A

Robinson: C

Woulda preferred Darnell Washington over Johnson, but we needed a rusher more than TE so I understand. Robinson has potential, woulda preferred a guy that had potential to play outside CB, but hard to find one of those in the 5th heh

Initial grade is a C. Nailed the first pick and the rest were questionable or meh at best. But it doesn’t matter as long as Bryce pans out as a franchise QB.

This is how we've got ourselves in this position.

The good teams nail the majority of their picks.

Exactly.. if Bryce Young becomes our franchise QB , This draft gets an A+

I thought Terrence Marshall Jr was the steal of a draft,, so far, not so much. Hopefully now that team Rhule coaches are gone , he’ll find his footing. But I have my doubts still
AND MINGO COMES IN AND FINDS HIS PLACE EARLY . .

Im not going to judge the DJ Johnson pick until the coaches show us their plan. We’ve learned over the years not to judge a player by the reactions of Huddle banter and armchair GM’s lol

The rest,, just make the team 🤙

B for me, personally am glad we prioritized Bryce early on day 2 with Mingo. Need to keep adding receivers around him. Zavala was a guy I thought could go in round 3 so I was psyched about him.

Mingo was one of the few receivers that I liked that could play outside, love his RAC ability, feels like someone Reich is going to absolutely love with his scheme.

Robinson feels like a classic Fangio/Evero nickle, Florida State fans seem to love him, I’ll keep an open mind.

The trade up was the only thing I truly disliked, DJ is whatever I can see why he fits really well with Evero so I’ll give him a shot.

Overall this draft completely rides on Bryce and I’m super high on him so I’m very happy.

After that it did feel like we drafted guys that complimented what the staff wants to do and that’s a plus as well, also I’m never opposed to missing on Athletes if we are going to miss, glad the days of limited athleticism players are gone.

It is gonna be all about the haul they paid for the QB, and if he is worth it.

These other picks are relatively small stuff compared to what was risked there.

I didn’t want to do any of what they did to get a QB but if it works, it works.  Definitely a wait and see,  I think it will be fairly clear by December at the latest.

Young's meeting during the 30 man visit sold the Panthers on him.  I don't know if you saw the presser with Fitterer but they asked hm what his routine was in a week and stopped him after 30 minutes when he only reached Tuesday.

Young A+

Mingo was targeted before round 2 even started.  You can call for other positions of need, but Mingo was someone who fits what we want to do.  It isn't always about the best athlete at the time. Mingo's skillset fits what Reich wants to do. Once again during Reich presser they mentioned that.  To me that is more important than getting some guy with amazing talent but doesn't really fit what you are doing.

Mingo A

Johnson was mentioned with a similar skillset to Burns.  While I don't expect him to blow the doors off in season 1 or 2 but by year 3 we could have a really good duo.  Plus, in our scheme he will be upright and won't have his hand in the dirt.  Presser mentioned that his Pro production will most likely be better than his college production.  I see why we moved up.

Johnson B+

Zavala gets an A just by the reaction of Campen.  Not to mention he has chemistry with Ekwonu. I said before if we are going to draft Young our #1 priority is making sure we have a solid offensive line.  We need a pipeline of good O-linemen as long as Young is a Panther.   If the front office isn't worried about his injuries, neither am I. I am sure that the media with use injuries as a reason to drop his grade, but IMO watch the Campen video again and tell me we fugged up with this pick.

Zavala A

Robinson is my lowest grade at C+.  Watching his videos, I like how him hit people.  He has a violent nature about him I like.  I forget where I heard it, but some said he had a CB body and could possibly play nickel.  I am sure Evero had a lot to say about this pick and how he can utilize him.  If all he does is play special teams and plays well the value in the 5th round was worth it.

Robinson C+

Overall I think our staff is completely happy with our take in this year's draft.  Sure we could have had this player or that player but based on our roster I believe we nailed this draft quite well.

Overall Solid A.

As a complete amateur who knows very little about most of these players, I give it a B- based on the first 2 picks.  I love Young as a college player, and there is definitely a lot of potential there.  But his playing size will be 5'10", 195 lb.  As good as the SEC is, it's nowhere near the NFL.  He very well could become another Drew Brees, and I hope he does, but statically it's not likely.  If he proves me wrong and stays on the field, he'll be the best of the QBs taken.

Mingo is another interesting pick.  His athleticism is off the charts, but he doesn't have the production to match (not that I would scoff at 861 yds and 5 tds).  One reason for this could be that they averaged 47.2 rushing attempts and only 29.8 passing attempts per game.  But then you have to question why fellow wr Malik Heath, who has a similar build but is much less athletic, had better production.

TE from Georgia was never going to get drafted by the Panthers.  He took himself off the board completely with his visit.

Overall grade B

If young stays healthy and is productive, then a A-

I like the Mingo pick, High ceiling WR who blocks like a TE. Can get creative with him in the red zone being in line worst case as a rookie. Can make freaking athletic plays down the field as well.

DJ is going to get a ton of playing time as the strong side, edge setting OLB.. no one else really like him on the team at all.

Nice depth piece at guard that could possibly start full time in a season or two.
