The total disgust they have for this pick is funny and frightening at the same time..

Yeah it’s a mid/late 3rd that’s a potential pick. He is a big physical pass rusher that will work nice opposite of Burns. Evero is going to love having Burns, Barno, Haynes, and now DJ rotating in to keep fresh pass rushers out there.

Fans really think they have the inside scoop more than a team of scouts. Trust the front office.

Brah like…plenty of times this forum makes a better choice. I did it when I wanted Crosby over Grier (lmao) and I’m an idiot…I remember people doing it  for Little…

Even the ‘professionals’ make some idiot moves.

lots of butthurt armchair GMs in this thread because we picked someone they don’t know anything about, so therefore he must suck.

I was pissed at first because he’s a senior citizen who has never had statistical success since he started college in 1996. But this was his first year at OLB and he did a really good job at setting the edge and he plays hard and he’s a hustler. If he can be taught one hand technique(he uses zero) when rushing the passer he just might be something

No. 80 Carolina Panthers: DJ Johnson, OLB, Oregon

Grade: C

Johnson is a bull rusher with a ton of power and strength, but lacks technique and fluidity. Of course this sounds like a lot of players at this point in the draft, but at 24 years old already, he’ll need to show he can improve quickly.

Yeah our run D sucked, so EJ looks like he got what he wanted. We've got plenty of 3-4 speed rushers

Now you're getting it.

I am really interested to see how this turns out.  I mentioned before that it seemed they needed a run stuffer.  And that is what Evero was talking about. Maybe that is crucial in his D?  You would think with YGM we have that.  But maybe they need another one.

Im wondering if Byron Young getting snagged several picks before prompted this move up.

I certainly have faith in this staff. Really interested to see what they do with him.

Well, I still feel this should be a Young focused draft.   And that’s pretty much my view.

think the draft should be WR, TE, OG, pass catching RB as priority adds  Think round 2 and 3 were ideal to get two of the first 3 in that list.  RB later on.

Well we did get a big body WR. I think they probably see Hurst as a stop gap solution for them to evaluate Tremble and see if Ian Thomas can amount to something.

We have a plethora of weapons on offense right now. They aren’t the best in the game but they serve their function. I do want us to replace Foreman with a similar style player.

The way I see it we can call any play we want with the guys we’ve gathered. We don’t necessarily need studs everywhere. We just need the right players to win the right situations at the right time.

I’ve never heard of this guy mentioned but I’m not that dialed in. I have to think Evero and Dom Capers were the drivers here. Have to think they see something special through scouting this guy. Especially moving up in a draft where we have very little capital. Fingers crossed
