Sorry Im canadian so I try not to have big reactions...

I only reacted like that cause I dont want to think about next year, we are about to draft our franchise QB. TOMORROW.

Lets just pumped about that.

What part of Canada are you in?  My wife was born in Halifax and has a ton of family in PEI.

He wrote fug Utah on his nails was the issue for me. But he’s a best QB prospect in years.

Yeah that's a little Baker-like but I really don't think it's that big of a deal.  These guys talk like that all the time on the field.  It's just not a very good look for the little kids looking up to the players.

Need to see how they play their final season of college. I remember when guys like Brian Brohm, Christen Hackenburg, and Ryan Mallet were projected as top 3 picks heading into their final season. Even Sam Howell after his first year at UNC was talked about as a surefire top 5 pick after one season.

It's kinda close but I would pick Maye. He literally carried a UNC offense by himself.

I don't care for UNC but you take Drake Maye every year over Young. Anyone who watched him this year knows that.

I'm an App State fan and after the UNC - App game I went on the UNC board and let people know, because I knew, that he was a legit Heisman Contender. He didn't misfire a single ball that entire game. Pure insanity from a ball placement standpoint, speed, stature.

I'd also rather have Will Andersom than 5'9 Bryce Young so...whatever. Young is too small. He's going to get hurt. And I'll enjoy the blast from the past from 2010.

Drake Maye is none of those guys lol...im laughing so hard my stomach is hurting man. Drake Maye is a Top 2 pick, sure fire. 5 star, 6'5, 4.5 40, ball placement on par with Stroud...

His comp is probably a faster Justin Herbert.

I don't watch UNC football (despite being an alum), but statistically speaking, the last 4 games of the season were his worst 4 games by virtually every metric.  He seemed to start off sizzling hot and then fell off towards the end of the season.  Not sure if he was injured or he lost a bunch of receivers/o-line or what, but that's a bit of a discouraging trend to end the season.  Bryce Young on the other hand, doesn't seem to have really had a statistically "bad" game dating back the last two seasons, other than perhaps the UGA championship game last year where he threw for 369 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs.  Maye has had a very promising start to his career, but I still think he's TBD to see if he can play an entire season at a high level, whereas Young has proven that.

Young is a 180 pound qb. That's not big at any level of football much less the nfl. He's a smart guy and processes great. He's gonna be the panther qb and hopefully hold up for 5 good years. I'd choose Maye over him based on Mayes incredible skill level and great size. The sad thing about young is he checks off so many important boxes as a qb but is a very small human by fb standards.

Drake has talent but here are a few things I have issues with:

Despite popular belief, UNC is a talented football team. They’ve had numerous top 15/20 recruiting classes over the last 5 years.

With that being said, his performances and his team performances vs inferior opponents in talent like GT, NCSU, etc leaves a lot to be desired. Especially against GT was just a poor outing for a talented offense vs GT team that only accounted for 4-5 wins.

    • Ny Times           Jaylin Walker to Raiders   8. Carolina Panthers: Mykel Williams, edge, Georgia The second Georgia player to go in the top 10, Williams was injured in the 2024 opener against Clemson and didn’t get to play much in the first half of last season. But he was back for a big game at Texas in October and gave UT fits, notching two sacks. He had two more sacks against the Longhorns in the SEC title game. The 6-5, 260-pounder has 34 1/2-inch arms with potential that makes D-line coaches giddy. “He was banged up a lot this year, but when he was close to 100 percent, he’s super twitchy,” an SEC tight ends coach said. “He’s a freak.” He’ll boost a Carolina team that had the worst pass rush in the league. “He’s more of the traditional defensive end guy than Walker,” said an SEC O-line coach who was really impressed by both Georgia players. “He can either be that 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 end. He has real pass rush ability. I think he’s an elite edge rusher. He’s great chasing from behind, and he can play the run well enough.”   ESPN Rd 1 8. Carolina Panthers Jalon Walker, Edge/LB, Georgia The Panthers have made a series of edge rusher investments over the past two years, but none has massively moved the needle. The Panthers -- who allowed the most yards per play (6.0) and tied for the third-fewest sacks (32) last season -- could truly address their need in the top 10, though. Walker had 6.5 sacks in 2024 even though he spent a lot of his time patrolling the middle of the field at off-ball linebacker. Carolina could deploy Walker in a hybrid role since it needs a boost at both linebacker and edge rusher.   rd 2  57. Carolina Panthers (via LAR) Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State At 5-foot-10 and 194 pounds, Noel might be a better fit in the slot than outside. But he has serious explosion, averaging 14.9 yards per catch last season en route to 1,194 yards and eight scores. Noel could join Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker to form an intriguing young WR corps.   NFL.COM. IDEAL FIRST 2 picks Round 1: No. 8 overall: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State Round 2: No. 57 overall: Kevin Winston Jr. S, Penn State The Panthers might have bigger needs on their roster than at tight end, but they are unlikely to find a more impactful player on offense than Warren. His presence as a safety valve and red-zone threat would aid Bryce Young's progression as a third-year starter. In this scenario, they take Winston -- a rangy, secure tackler -- to play beside free-agent pick-up Tre'von Moehrig. By taking two prospects from the same school with their first two picks, they follow the lead of the Rams (who actually traded Carolina this year's 57th overall pick as part of the process of pairing Jared Verse and Braden Fiske of Florida State) and Jaguars (who took Brian Thomas Jr. and Maason Smith out of LSU) last year.
