Surprise, no.

Disappointment, yes.

Seems that you are in the Acceptance stage. Just hang in there and it will be all right. If you are correct in your assumptions, then it will be apparent by the end of next year. If you are wrong, then you may have grown to believe in Bryce by then.

I don't see how anyone can not be excited regardless of the QB taken.

We have hope, regardless of who we pick. We have no idea what QB is actually going to succeed in the NFL. The draft is a crapshoot that way.

I can't get worked up for not picking "my guy" anymore. I didn't want Jimmy Clausen. I didn't want Herbert. I wanted Zach Wilson. I thought Burrow was going to be a stud. I know poo about fug.

I'm letting the guys with the actual knowledge and experience pick the guy they think will best succeed and I'm behind the pick 100% regardless of who it is.

I honestly don't have a favorite either. I just hope whoever it is that they have the least annoying fans showing up here.

If I can pull for Randy fasani, Chris Weinke, Jimmy Clausen, David Carr, Sam darnold, teddy, baker, Brian st piere etc (I am sure I am missing some other scubs) then its going to take little to no effort to fully embrace our #1 pick Bryce Young.  At this point for me beggars cant be choosers and we've been in a dark place for half a decade.  I pray this dude proves me wrong and makes me eat crow by staying healthy and winning the division and hosting a playoff game.  That should be the goal of 2023.  So fug it lets roll.

I think the blind homerism for everyone's guy will calm down once the draft is over. I certainly expect to see some folks angry at the pick and others overjoyed, but I would be all for anyone doing any kind of excessive gloating or insufferable whining to at least get hit with the time out hammer. It has been rough enough already.

If we are lucky, we could all at least mostly unite under the, "well at least it's not Levis banner."

Right?......... right....?

I want to hear more about the diet plan!

I'm just happy that JJ points out that his playing weight will be around 194. I don't think that manufactured 204 combine weight fooled anyone. No need to BS us, the young man is a hell of a QB.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
