...it's probably time to start looking at those prospects for the draft

You guys do realize that we need more than just a QB, right.

These are guys Ii think we realisticly have a shot at getting.

QB: Pike(Cinci), McCoy(UT), LaFevour(CM), Skinner(WF), Ponder(FSU)

WR: Gilyard(Cinci), Shipley(UT), Jacoby Ford (Clemson), Riley Cooper (UF), Dwayne Harris(ECU)

DE: Sapp(Clemson), Graham(Mich), Selvie (USF), Young(NCST), Wilson (ECU)

DT: Suh (Don't need one but this guy is great)

S: McCarthy(ND), Woodall(Bama), Coleman(Ohio S), Ward(Oregon)

BTW. What's the best website for draft info and player overviews?

well, I am a Clemson fan and we don't want Sapp. The guy to wait for is Bowers at DE when he comes out.

Ford is a #3 at the next level but could be the answer to the return situation.

i don't care if they don't draft one this year as long as they can work some kind of a trade or get a decent free agent (which there aren't many of) at QB, but they must do something about this position.

Besides that, the two biggest needs going into the draft would be WR and DT, and it would surprise a lot of ppl for me to say WR might be more of a priority, especially since we'll have Louis Leonard, Maake, Tank Tyler and Corvey Irvin back this next season.

WR and QB are easily our biggest need.

I mean and it's a huge gap really between our WR need and DT.

If we can't get Clausen, Locker or Bradford I would rather just stick with Moore (or Vick or someone like Thigpen if we can get him) at QB and go with best available DT or WR in the 2nd and 3rd. I think one of these draft QBs will slip to the late 3rd or even 4th round and we can pick them up then.

If we can get Golden Tate in the 2nd and then still sign someone like Kevin Walter our WRs are instantly a strength. Golden Tate in the slot with Smith and Walter on the outside would be awesome.

We get Kemo back at DT next year and we have made so many signings there this season if we can just get someone like Austin at DT from UNC in the 2nd or 3rd our defensive line will be fine.

Try and work a sign and trade with Peppers or if we can't do that just let him walk and release Delhomme. Best case scenario IMO is a sign and trade with Peppers going to Miami for Thigpen and a 2nd, I don't know if thats even a possiblity but that would set us up nicely.

QB - Thigpen, Moore, Feely

RB - same

WR - Smith, Walter, Tate

TE - same

OL - same

DE - CJ, Brown, Brayton (maybe make a FA signing for a starter here)

DT - Kemo, Lewis, Austin, Tyler (if Thomas is able to come back and keep up his play re-sign him)

LBs - same

secondary - same

I would be happy with that team next year...

I'd like to see how LeFevour does under center at the all star games and whatnot.

And I'll say it again, Maake's probably played his last game here.

Maybe he has but even that doesn't put DT over WR IMO. He isn't replaceable and most people know that.

At least we can replace Moose and certainly upgrade Jarrett.

Big good DT's like Maake(and those better than Maake) are almost as hard to find as a good QB, we'll likely be better off drafting a late round fatty help plug the middle.

Is anyone really counting on Corvey Irvin and Louis Leonard? Leonard didnt last two games but he might be a good fit here; still wouldnt put all my eggs in that basket. Maybe there's a reason he's been on practice squads in the past. We had NO depth at DT, yet Irvin still couldnt manage to make the active roster--if he turns out to be a player, i still expect it to be as a 3rd down guy and Lewis' replacement. Maake has a major injury for a man his size.

We're still in need of a tackle who can command double teams and dominate his man from the inside especially if we dont have a premier guy at DE. I dont think we have that with Irvin, Tyler, or Leonard. They all seem to be the "other" starting DT to me. If we're able to get an early DT, Allen Bailey, Arthur Jones or Brian Price would be ideal.

Lefevour owns, too.

Anyone else think we need to look at free safety this year? Martin was a welcome surprise in the games he's played, but we haven't seen enough of him to declare him starter material, in my opinion (he may very well be just that). Besides, there is very little safety depth on this team.

I think Harris is one of the hardest-hitting players in the game, and that style certainly has its benefits. He isn't so great in pass coverage though. We've seen the difference a true ball hawk can make on a defense. Can you imagine our defense with a Sanders, Reed, or Polamalu?

that is is a pretty week DL overall. If we lose Pep, a playmaker has to be brought in somewhere on that DL.
