First four game comparison of so called "talented" QB's vs. Moore.

So I've continually heard this notion that Moore hasn't lived up to other rookie's starters first 4 games, and how he's shown nothing and etc etc. So I did a comparison of several big name rookie/1st year starters vs Moore's. Enjoy.

Matt Ryan.

55 of 105 for 669 yds. 52% CMP% 2 TD 2 INT 2 W 2 L

Joe Flacco

62 of 106 for 603 yds. 58% CMP% 1 TD 4 INT 2 W 2 L

Mark Sanchez

63 of 110 for 594 yds. 57.2% CMP% 4 TD 5 INT 3 W 1 L

Aaron Rodgers

78 of 126 for 961 yds. 62% CMP% 6 TD 3 INT 2 W 2 L

Matt Moore

63 of 99 for 725 yds. 63% CMP% 3 TD 3 INT 3 W 1 L

Soooo what did learn... Hmmm Matt Moore compares pretty good to these so called "great" young QB's everyone wants.

Point of this is, don't right Moore off so quickly, let him get some experience, and give him some time to prove himself.

That is all.

How about comparing him to someone in a similar situation to his. How about Tony Romo. In his first 4 starts he went 87 out of 120 for a 72.5% completion percentage. He threw for 1088 total yards which averages almost 10 yards per attempt with 5 Tds and 2 Ints. Compared to that, Moore has a big way to go. I hope Moore turns out better that Romo has been particularly in the playoffs. Assuming he can one day lead us there.

Out of those stats Matt Moore threw the least attempts, but the numbers would probably be different, at least for the Rodgers/Moore comparison, if he got 27 more attempts. The 63% completion percentage also shows that he can spread the ball around pretty decently more often than not. So far his decision making almost reminds me of a younger Delhomme with some of the high risk-high reward type throws he had but Moore's ability to move in the pocket and out of the pocket is something our offense has been dying to have.

We'll probably have a good idea what to do with Matt once the Saints game is over. Assuming Moore starts the rest of the season.

Yea and some of those passes were just hail mary passes at the end of a half or game.

I remember they made him do that for a couple of games in the past, which more times than not curves the stats to show it. If the comparison counted the games he had to come in during garbage time, he would have a few more INTs and the attempts of passes/yardage would be higher.
