So the A's just bought land for a new stadium in Vegas.

I get that we'll probably never have MLB in Charlotte, but how does LV go from zero pro teams to three ... in just six years?  Is that even sustainable?

All they need now is MLS and NBA and I do believe they're getting MLS next year. But to answer your question, similar to why Orlando has teams ... tourists.

Orlando only has the NBA and MLS. That's about 50 events per year.  If Vegas gets the MLS and NBA, they're looking at 200 events per year.  That's a lot of tourists.

Gambling on games and attending games are two different things. Most states have legalized sports betting anyway, so you don't have to go to Vegas to do it.

Yeah but get Pro sports playing year round and think what that does to the vacation market.  Come to Vegas, hit the casinos, catch a pro sports game (or two), see the show girls, hire a hooker...

Meh, Charlotte's got something much more important (that Las Vegas is in desperate need of) water. Patience grasshopper, a few more years of drought in the Southwest and Charlotte will have all the pro sports teams it can handle.
