Grass field

I am good with bermuda in my small lawn... but not efficient in any other types.. especialy at that size. 

I do commercial lawns on large scale. The issue isn't so much the transplanting, it's the time that it takes for it to sufficiently root well. Depending on grass type there is a 4-6 week time period for it to root and then there is a period when the grass has to be trained to be mowed to a certain height. Different varieties take different lengths of time. I know that there are concerns from a financial standpoint of being able to do concerts and tearing up the field, but it is doable. The key to all of it is making sure the base has adequate drainage and I would install some type of heating underneath to be able to assist in keeping it relatively dry/thawed to prevent turf damage. Turf management is a science, especially on heavily used areas. Lots of variables and a constantly changing environment.

We had one of the best natural grass fields in the NFL before this change. Clinate here is a lot more conducive than Arizona.  The only reason for turf is for events like concerts

If I recall correctly the AZ stadium was using some experimental grass during the Super Bowl.

At least at Wembley, the concerts are fine because they just lay some kind of plastic or aluminum flooring down on top of the grass for a night, they spent a lot on this hybrid grass field and it still didn't stand up to a few weeks of NFL and Soccer games apparently. The main issue is a Charlotte FC match on a Saturday and NFL on Sunday through the first month of NFL season. I think the soccer team can fug off and get their own little stadium personally

Yeah it's on a 3" tray that they roll out during the day to get sunlight, weird set up. They should have just stuck with their normal formula because I've never seen that field look that bad

Carolina heat and humidity is great for growing grass no doubt about it (Tepper needs to get with the program). 

However, as someone that has lived near the AZ stadium for several years, I can say they have a state of the art system that can grow grass and swap out fields as fast as anyone in the league.  Why they decided to experiment with a new variety of grass just before the SB is beyond me.

Well the most important thing is he put the logo on midfield right?  There is good and bad with every owner.  Maybe Tepper will listen to us on this as well.  My gut tells me he won't go back to grass unless he is forced too.

This coming year, the only change in the NFL is that the Titans are going from grass to artificial turf. Players Association seems pretty weak on this issue.

They can call me old school but i feel football and baseball were meant to be played outside on grass.
