You don't have to like it but there are some parallels between Mayfield and Young. Highly touted heisman winner back to back 40+ touchdown single digit INT seasons with 70% completion and #1 pick. Baker is bigger too. The one key area of difference you can look to is personality. They are polar opposites there and that could be a layer on why Baker has been the bust he has become. In comparison Bryce is very intelligent humble and is beloved by many as a true leader. If he's going to make it that will be a significant reason why.

Do you know Baker's S2 score? Otherwise I don't know how it's relevant to this topic.

If UNC QB Drake Maye doesn't get some serious injury, he is going to make some fortunate NFL team a very, very good QB.

I had so much fun watching him last year.  Really stinks they can’t get to that 10 win hump.  That Downs drop in the corner of the end zone was difficult to watch.  I really hope Drake plays even better this season.  He is like a point guard at the QB position but with a solid frame and some height on him.  Didn’t expect anything like that from him right away; Really blew me away with how calm he is and just how well he sees the field and processes everything. Throws a gorgeous ball to boot.  Cmon September! 😂

I feel Drake Maye has a bright future and will probably be a high first round draft choice next year if he remains healthy.

I expected big things from Drake, right from the get go because he comes from a family that really excels in sports and I wasn't disappointed with his overall performance last year.

Made it clear today it’s something they believe in.  With rumors that Stroud did poorly, I think it’s clear they are taking Young

I am not sure is the rumors are true. However,  like you, I feel the Panthers will select Bryce Young #1 overall.

I wonder if we'll ever know Stroud's score.

I have a feeling it won't be released, or if it is it will be disputed.

Because there's no definitive score released at this point, it probably means it wasn't as good as the other quarterbacks this year.

Stroud, according to this executive scored 18 percent on this test, which is apparently considered a major red flag. Meanwhile, other first-round quarterbacks such as Bryce Young (98 percent), Will Levis (84 percent), Anthony Richardson (79 percent) and Hendon Hooker (46 percent) all scored significantly higher.

“Stroud scored 18,” the executive told. “That is like red alert, red alert, you can’t take a guy like that. That is why I have Stroud as a bust.

“The S2 people will say, ‘Hey, guys that graded high on this test don’t always play well,’” one club executive said, “’But, we’ve never had somebody grade low and play well.’”  Columbus Dispatch

This plus the fact that no OSU qb has ever been worth a damn in the NFL means you do not trade up for Stroud (Fields was poor first year and mediocre second year).

Couldn’t agree more

I can hardly wait for the 2023 College Football Season to start to how Drake Maye and UNC will do.

Me either man.   I think they’re not gonna score quite as much with Chip Lindsey as the new OC; they will run the ball more and the T.O.P game; which I don’t mind, it gives the porous defense a chance to rest.  I’m not sold on Gene Chizik. He either gets it done this year, or he’s out imo.

That could very well happen. In addition to running the ball more, hey may throw more short ball control passes that move the chains and  keep the defense rested and off the field.
