I've seen lower suggestions than that.

Not sure how it ultimately shakes out but yeah, it's looking like a pretty big whiff.

If they cant get a 2nd for him, I would just keep him and play him until Purdy is healthy. Maybe his stock can go up some....

Regarding Purdy...

That possibility makes some analysts think the 49ers are more likely to hang on to Lance.

If they were to part ways with him with Purdy still injured and Sam Darnold being the only other option though, yikes 😬

Yeah....with that news, no way they let Lance go for cheap.

Just saw an interview with Jalen Carter about the terrible situation that he was at least involved with where 2 people lost their lives. He said teams will probably take that against him.  He said absolutely nothing about the victims or anything about the situation.  He had Drew Rosenhaus sitting right beside him.  I just wouldn’t touch this dude in this draft.  He is out of touch with reality

That's your reason. Why would he talk about the accident?

He's trying to get drafted. This is why you hire an agent. They keep it about football.

The talk was Atlanta at #8, but I imagine there was more press than here about this situation there.

My point was he needed to be that closely monitored by his agent even in an interview.  That doesn’t feel right to me

I agree it sucks he didn't mention it, but that's not why they are interviewing him so I can see both sides.

He said that he wanted to tell his side.  However, if you are interviewing a player involved in this horrible event sitting on his couch before the draft, the issue is character.  His agent on the couch was not there for cosmetics--he knows he has a delicate situation and did not want his client to be compromised by a reporter--but the risk of his character being damaged was real and the comment Shocker makes is a fair one.  However, I can say that any comment he makes could probably be used against him--so any good lawyer would advise him to not discuss the victims.  You have to imagine the tape being played in court--"I feel so badly for the people who died." The jury could equate that with guilt or responsibility--I have not been keeping up with the details, so I am just speculating.

Drew Rosenhause has been in a lot of interviews with his clients. I think you're reading too much into it. He's a kid and was probably scared of the spotlight.

You have a link to the interview?

    • The book isn’t finished on Daniel Jones by any means but I don’t think we see him become the player even Sam Darnold has become. He could be a good backup in the right situation. The Rams seem like a good option to let him sit and learn with McVay.
    • I’ve seen Jones make throws Bryce could never dream of making. On the flip side I’ve seen Jones also make mistakes Bryce has never made. I think Jones might be available for a few weeks waiting for the right opportunity, but being the backup to Bryce with a shot to win the job next season is probably his best chance at another starting job, and in his home town. It’s a low risk move honestly, and he could replace Dalton as he backup. Shouldn’t stop the Panthers from drafting someone in the offseason though, even if they signed him.
    • Kooch for the shutout - almost had one last start
