There really isn't any data he is by himself in these comparisons. Only two QB's below 6 foot have become MVP in the past 50 years. It's okay to acknowledge this is a variable to consider given our level of investment. It's due diligence. To call it ignorance reveals you are likely an Alabama fan.

none have been under 200lbs.  What we are expecting (hoping) young to do is literally going to be the outlier of all outliers, the first of its kind.

Actually there were I think two sub 200 pound QB's but you have to go all the way back to the early 80's before I was even born so yeah that kinda says it all. But anywho if he's our guy I'm fully on board and I'm sure the coaching staff have a plan in mind to alleviate these concerns so all I can do is trust their judgment until they give me a reason not to. Hopefully they don't 🤞

Im definitely concerned on Young's size and have my worries/doubts but of course if he is chosen I hope I am proven very wrong and will back him as our guy with enthusiasm. Young is obviously a very likable guy. For that matter though, Stroud seems very likable as well. The sub 200 pound frame on Young is concerning any way you look at it though.

Everyone says his size is a concern. Yet, most would still take him. Go figure.

I think the size thing is a valid thing to be concerned about just because we’ve never seen it before. I do think they can get him on a plan to bulk up over time and he’ll continue to grow into his body.

Personally, I think the good outweighs the bad with Young and that he’ll do really well for us (if he’s the pick) but I get the critiques about the size. Some people on here kinda take it to another level though lmao.

I have watched a lot of film/highlights the last 2 weeks in an attempt to even try to convince myself and i still come away thinking they are about to make a big mistake. Thats just where im at, it will be a  show and prove thing thing for me. No talking persuading angles is gonna do it for me.  Wish the season started right after draft so i will get a look but oh well.

What film are you watching that's different from everybody else?

This kid has been the #1 QB since he came out of high school. Something is not adding up if the film doesn't have you sold im not sure if you ever will be sold.

I am watching film from last season mostly. I dont give a poo what he did 2 years ago and high school. Im not seeing enough to take him number 1 overall. If he carries what im seeing into the pros, then yeah i will never been sold.

Yeah if we sucked into the #1 pick fine, but trading all that for him...He's the actual "safe" pick when CJ might be the baller with that chip

Nice catch. When I was reading up on how many players you can protect, I forgot about them having to clear waivers first. Not sure Matt would clear them.

Well poo. Now what?

I really think they will try and trade him to someone and get a draft pick. I hate he did not get a chance here, but that will also clear up a uniform number.

I doubt we trade him, especially if they reinstate the emergency QB rule.

Remember the NFL rule QB's are to be treated like a flag football player making a tackle on him as delicate as you can.

Thats true but he will still get pushed around alot. If he throws it a tad late, he will easily get pushed or worse. They are going to be relentless on him for his size.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
