This may be a dumb question , but aren't the Checkers The Canes AHL team , these announcers keep saying they are torontos ?

Nah, one of Dundon's first moves as owner was to cancel our affiliation with the most storied southern hockey market, in his brand new backyard so he could put some sweet blue flame seatcovers on his private jet.

Charlotte Checkers were the Canes affiliate from 2010-2020 when the Canes dropped them and changed to the Chicago Wolves. Now the Checkers are the Florida Panthers AHL affiliate, a change I hate since live in the Charlotte area.

To be fair though it sounds like Dundon may get a redemption song if he chooses. Since the Wolves want to ditch all NHL affiliations from all teams after this season.

Still can't make up for it though because he couldn't get Charlotte back...our could he ?
