From watching him play. I don't question his ability to generate velocity or go deep in a clean pocket. But that doesn't always happen in the NFL. I don't know if I've ever seen him throw a rope or go deep with pressure in his face. It's a legit concern.

it's not like he's right at getting crushed or taking the hit but he has to 1. pretty quickly step up and make decision and 2. be quick about release while also getting plenty behind the ball

Yeah I jumped around various QB's throwing deepish yesterday and he does not stand out at all

I was thinking about Young canceling his visits, and some people posted very reasonably that it could be that he hasn't heard anything from the Panthers and he has been told by the Texans that he's their pick.

So would you cancel your other visits on the day the Texans announce at press conference that their "listening" to offers for 2?   And if so, why now?  These visits have been on the books for months.  The Texans are just now notifying Young he is their pick, and the same day announce their listening to other offers?

But the betting markets certainly didn't see it that way.

What was interesting was Caserio said we'd know by Thursday if they were trading out of #2.

I don’t think the Panthers would give out any assurances until Lewis and Stroud left the building. But I think the feel confident enough. But that’s just my guess

This is Scott Fitterer 3 weeks ago about Young's arm strength

“Thought he was very fluid, very poised,” Fitterer said. “Ball came out of his hand nice and easy — plenty of arm strength. I think, overall, he managed to do well.

“Saw a lot of good things out of him. Very in control, very poised. It’s just like you thought it would be. I know I heard comments around me, like, ‘Hey, his arm is better in person than I thought,’ [from] coaches that had only seen tape. That’s from other teams, but it’s always good to hear things like that.”

He doesn't have the level of the arm of Mahomes or Josh Allen. However, he can make the necessary throws that will keep defenses honest and more importantly he can read breaks and anticipate throws as the windows in the NFL are smaller and you will have to throw guys open.

The only questions I have about Young is his durability and limiting some of his "hero" ball plays at the next level. Otherwise, I just have to go by his durability of only missing 1 game in 27 starts at Alabama, then coaches that we have in place to work on that internal clock of knowing when a play is over.

Yep there and Nashville for sure. Those two trips were my favorite ones in 2015. You?

definitely trying to go to Jax, waiting for schedule release to confirm it's a date I can do. Nashville would be a blast but not sure if I can swing it. Been spending a fair amount of time in FL for work and will try to line it up to be able to go to all 3 road games in FL, also would like to go to the home game vs the Vikings with some family (who are all vikings fans). Haven't been to a game since at Tampa in 2018 which is a joke as I was going to 2-3 every year before then. Guess that's what covid, not living local, and the team sucking ass will do to a fan

I hear you. I live in Canada so travelling for games isn’t exactly easy. I’ve only gone to games the last few seasons to see RR. If the team is doing well I go to a lot more. But yeah, Jax and Nash are both great trips. Jax is a cool experience, I might’ve watched 2 minutes of football that day in the pool

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
