Who should start at QB for 2023

Hello all. I have seen a lot of discussion regarding our new potential draft pick for a rookie quarterback. My question is who should start at quarterback for 2023? Most teams start a veteran quarterback, and they take the rookie quarterback under their wing, to train, ETC. 

should we play the new rookie quarterback this season?  Or do we play a veteran quarterback?

Bryce or Stroud I’d say start from day 1, Richardson will need some time probably but I could see him playing sooner than people expect.

If the rookie can’t start the season we drafted the wrong rookie.

It is almost a given the Panthers will draft either Young or Stroud and going by their college performance both should be capable of being the starter if healthy.

Certainly don't want to see Andy Dalton unless it's in case of emergency

I really like the idea of sitting a rookie QB. we have an excellent bridge QB in Andy Dalton.  It worked wonders for Patrick Mahomes.

Although, in today's NFL a #1 overall draft pick has to be a day-one starter.

#1 overall starts immediately. No QB competition bs. Named starter on draft night.

This is why I asked the question, in the past, I have seen teams draft a talented young quarterback, then sit him for developmental purposes.  (I guess they don’t want to throw him into deep water and hope he learns to swim.)

But, in today’s NFL, winning immediately is what is expected.

To be honest, I don’t have a lot of faith in Andy Dalton.

We signed Dalton in part to make sure we didn't have to play the rookie before he's ready but I absolutely think the plan is for the rookie to start day one.

Neither Goff or Mayfield started their rookie years, just sayin. Plenty of other top 10 picks that are better than them didn't play immediately. Who knows how the new staff/playbook will affect how comfortable they are with either the rookie or Dalton
