All you Youngsters may get your way. I hope you don’t regret it a few years from now. Many analysts believe that Stroud is a better fit for the Panthers and has a higher ceiling, even those who think Young is better right now. We will see. I think we will all be pulling for whomever gets picked and hope he is an All-Pro.

Not really

Haven’t been on here much lately.

but going through these threads.  It’s clear, some on here just go to the search bar and look up the words Bryce and Young.  Then go b!tch and moan because he’s not the guy you want.  And will throw a temper tantrum like a child if he’s the pick and not your guy.

Josh Klein was right.  The team wants this wrapped up early, so boozed up people like you and others who are Stroud or bust, don’t ruin the party for everyone.

Tepper hasn't won anything since buying this team and trading up to #1 this year just proves he is nowhere close to turning it around. Going with Young and watching him bust in the NFL will just be the cherry on top of the pile of crap he has turned this franchise into. It was sad in the Rhule times but now it's just a bottom dweller team doing bottom dweller things. Looking though this place and seeing the desperation and disconnection from reality is just sad. The owner that runs a team with a 29-53 (35% winning) record team is exactly what his record says he is. He is owner in the mold of Haslam and Johnson. It's time to accept the Panthers are the same as the Browns and the Jets at this point. Or don't and wonder why people look at you like you are a Browns or Jets fan lol. Adding his wife, who has zero meaningful experience in anything apparently, to the process is just his chefs kiss to the hilarity of his incompetence while making money hand over fist.

From a guy who covers the Texans

Yeah like I said before the only way it happens is if the Texans fall in love with Young and offer something stupid.  I don't see it happening though.  We would also have Stroud rated very highly in this scenario.

I dont think teams in the nfl play this type of next level chess and I give something like that less then 1% chance of happening but if, if we have stroud ranked higher and if we are able to trick the the texans into flipping for some draft capital then Fitt and crew deserve some unbelievable praise.  That would be incredible to mindfug them like that.

Having said that, thats just not how things work in the nfl.   I think its going to be pretty telling if they interview young and then are like "nah we're good".

David and Nicole are not deciding which qb they select.  Reich and Fitterer are.

Is that why they're not attending any of the dinners, pro days, interviews, etc.?  It may be their final call, but you can bet your house that the Teppers will voice their opinions.  While they may still say "decision is yours", if you're slightly leaning on a guy, and your boss has the opposite opinion, it may be enough to sway the decision.

Bryce Young -330

CJ Stroud +225

It was complete opposite just a week ago, but this coinides with the recent media rumors coming out about Nicole and David Tepper really being smitten by Bryce Young.

I get the charisma and intangibles, but he doesn't have an elite physical quality over anyone else.  And in the NFL, you have to have both.

While Bryce Young may have better processing speed, CJ Stroud is not that far behind.  Meanwhile, when it comes to physical traits (beyond just size), Stroud has the bigger arm and is more likely to be able to make the NFL throws required to get the ball in tighter windows.

At the end of the day, sadly it's their franchise to run into the ground.

There have been plenty of great QBs without elite physical qualities.  In our division alone, we've seen Brees, Brady, and Ryan make it to the Super Bowl.  Young is shorter than them, but he's certainly a better athlete and playmaker with his legs along with comparable, if not slightly superior, arm strength.

Superior arm strength to who?!

This is so dramatic.

Young is an amazing prospect. And such a cool dude and leader, too. I'm excited and hopeful.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
