Josh Klein on the recent Bryce “smoke”

He says one of the reasons its leaking now so that fans will know at the draft party.  Yeah man I am not sure he is connected as we think on this.

 

If its bryce I will most certainly get a white jersey and support the hell out of him but damn its a bold strategy do draft the smallest qb in modern history, and one that is not very athletic, doesnt run and has an average nfl arm.  I really really hope they know what they are doing and everyone is on the same page with this.

I get it, I really really do but he is still going to get hit, and hit hard and its a long season.  So its a huge gamble but fug it whoever is the pick I will be excited

I kinda want Young for his mind (but I do not know the mind of the other qbs--I am also enamored with Young's consistency) but I want Stroud for the security of being more from a proven mold.  Either is OK if they use them correctly.  I feel Reich will.  I think Wilks showed us how to use a qb correctly (with limited talent) so I know it can be done. Rivera?  Only interested in Ws and his job.

I think Bryce is more athletic than we are giving him credit for.  I was watching some of his tape yesterday and he was evading NFL talent DL to make his throws.  He is quick and has a pretty quick release.  It's like a mini Burrow as Manning said.  He will dodge a few players and set his feet for a quick throw in traffic.  I don't know how far off his is from Russ in his running/scrambling ability his frame is just way smaller.

I've never considered this but it makes sense to warm us up to Bryce when the fanbase is favoring Stroud. No telling whether the smoke is for us or Houston.

Throwing out his first year, he had 0 yards rushing his heisman season and 185 last year.  He is not a threat to run and to me this complicates matters immensely if defenses know you dont like to run.  Sure he can scramble out of the pocket off script but holy fug that is a recipe for disaster

Sack yards are subtracted from rushing totals in college which can be a little weird to look at, but I don’t think he’s going to be running often or anything.

I would think fans (and the nfl) would like it to be a complete surprise at the party
