Clausen, Tate leaving Notre Dame for NFL draft

I think these two should stay in school and get some more seasoning. Both postions (QB and WR) are rated as 'weak' overall by NFL scouts for those who are likely to be drafted this year. I think Clausen especially can use some more experience. If ND can get a coach who knows something about defense, these guys could be positioned to actually make a run at a title, and their stock will go up tremendously if that happened. We know ND can score points, it's preventing scores that's killed them under Weis.

I think there were a couple of good reasons they bolted. The first being players are so worried that there will be a rookie cap next year that they are jumping ship early. Which BTW is a dumb idea unless you are projected to go in the 1st this year because a rookie salary scale is supposed to take away salary from the top of the draft and spread it evenly across the rest of the draft. So you most likely would be making more money if you are projected to go in on the 2nd day. Thats how I interpreted it anyway I could be wrong.

The other reason they fled was because there is an unknown at ND this year. The guy that scouted them and coached them is gone and who knows in the new coached scheme they might not fit as well. I think this draft is shaping up nicely to being one of the best in history, at least on paper.

I don't know if that's gonna change in one season though. And without Clausen and Tate, I'm not real confident the offense is gonna score a lot of points. Dayne Crist hasn't had a lot of time under center. Floyd will be back and Rudolph is a too at TE.....haven't heard if Robby Parris will be back for a 5th year but I kinda doubt it.

Mallett is a ******. That interview actually improved my opinion of him from other things I've seen. He's still got pretty great size and a huge arm, and Michigan was a ******* mess of epic proportions when he was there.

Clausen IMO is the product of a team that was constantly in shootouts against average teams to inflate his numbers, had great WRs and a line built for pass-blocking. I don't think he'll be a bad pro, but I think he will wildly under-achieve as a first round pick, much less 1st overall.

Bradford, even with the injury worries, is still the best QB in this draft, and Locker a close 2nd.

Cincy plugged in their backup and didn't skip a beat when Pike was injured. Hell, there was worry he might not win his job back. That's not something I like to see if I'm a GM looking at a QB.

Seconded.

The Michigan team that also lost to App State at home? Yeah, that was Chad Henne's team that beat Florida.

no, chad henne became the starter because of how bad mallet was.

in that huddle with him: manningham, jake long, mike hart, three players drafted into the nfl.

he was poo at michigan. it had nothing to do with the team around him being bad.

And Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with his longest pass going for 44 yrds...big deal.

oh sweet so we just have to have the best defense the nfl has ever seen. great, easy, no sweat.

No one's saying he's Manning or Brady, but you can win with a QB like him.

you basically just described every single quarterback.

Everyone was sucking Anderson's dick but what did he do with the Browns' supposedly decent OL and Massoquai catching passes?

well kellon winslow was traded, braylon edwards fell apart, and all the coaches he had his good season left.

also he's terrible.

Jimmy Clausen Compared to (Drew Brees) potential (top 3 Qb in NFL)

Very good Arm,Great Accuracy, Good Vision, Great deep ball , Great Touch

Great leader. Everything you want in a QB will Go 1 or 2 overall in draft

Golden Tate Compared to (Steve Smith) Potential (Top 10 Wr in NFL)

Very Strong Hands, good Leaping Ability, Decent Route Runner, sometimes drops the easy ones, Decent Punt returner. Will only get better still learning to be a WR . Draft Round -late first early second in a weak WR Draft

Just for Fun 2011 WR

1a A.J Green Jr 6'4 210 Comparison (Randy Moss) 40 time 4.34

1b Julio Jones Jr 6'3 230 Comparison (Andre Johnson) 40 time 4.45

1c Micheal Floyd Jr 6'3 225 Comparison (Larry Fitzgerald) 40 time 4.40
