Sounds like it allowed Morgan to have a more prominent role and he has a much better working relationship with Fitterer than Rhule ever did.

Fitterer and Morgan go way back. They're basically best friends. Their families even vacation together.

I feel like at some point, Morgan is going to get a GM job of his own but I'd love to keep him around for a few more years at least.

Yea, he already interviewed for one job.  Hope Tepper uses that big wallet of his to keep him here as long as possible.

With the FO having done their QB evaluations prior to Reich and his staff arriving I’d assume they (the FO portion of this equation) moved up with the intention of taking Bryce. Peter King mentioned yesterday that McCown really liked Young as well.

I still believe Vegas knows best and the odds are so in favor of Stroud that I have a hard time believing we end up with Bryce. It would have to be Reich that’s really driving the Stroud bus but King mentioned yesterday that Reich would go whichever way the majority did…

So I dunno

It just confirms just about everything I've said and been thinking about the power structure. It has been a "collaborative" effort from the "beginning." Fitt, Morgan and Suleiman are the driving force behind this transformation from a Rhule era where all three were basically handcuffed to the foolishness of Matt Rhule. The new "beginning" began with the exit of Matt Rhule (minus the lingering effects of course). That's why I haven't been as critical of Fitt and Suleiman as some others. It turns out that now Morgan has a lot of power behind the scenes as well. The three are really inextricably tied in regards to whether or not we will have a successful transition to an actual consistent, legitimate contender in the NFL. Of course Fitt gets the most responsibility as he's the GM and has allowed the others to play important roles in the decision-making when hiring the HC and other important roster decisions, but they will all have to take some responsibility for what happens in the future. I feel good about them, as do the Teppers (obviously), who are giving them the latitude to run the operations without being overbearing. Hopefully it all works out. We should have some idea by November, I'd say. Even if we aren't world beaters, incremental improvement should be fairly obvious. In two to three years I'd think that it should be obvious to everyone that we're a franchise that has truly turned the corner and is one that will have to be reckoned with on a yearly basis.

I think this article shows how much this front office was actually handicapped by Rhule. It very much does feel like Fitterer was Rhule's yes man. Now that Rhule is gone, Fitt can really work his magic and results have been pretty good so far. I have the utmost confidence in this new staff even compared to previous successful regimes.

Again these are fluff pieces until you see which QB they pick and whether he's any good.

A random Huddler could have traded away the team's future for the #1 pick - that doesn't make it a good thing.

All three could very easily find themselves in the unemployment line in 2 years time.

I don't feel like we traded away our future. It feels like we invested in our future (acquiring a franchise QB) without giving up too much. The 2025 1st will hit when we're potentially one or two pieces away. We have a lot of our future locked up or looking good right now.

They had to check in with Tepper when finalizing the DJ Chark deal? Hopefully that was just because they were together at a pro day

I think it has more to do with the nearly $4mil check Tepper would have to write at signing.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
