I would love to trade back with on of the 4th rounders to gain another pick or two.  If so, NT for sure and possibly a 5-tech.  I'm not drafting a corner for injury concerns. Horn an Jackson just need to stay freaking healthy.

Funny how we all have so many variations of opinions--probably because we have not seen the new system and how players will be used.

But this is so wrong. It is just wrong.  It is very incorrect.  (Kidding--who the hell knows?) I see your point--I would love to see us grab a TE and OLB/Edge just because the draft is so deep there. I think we need a CB and possibly an ILB.  Have no idea exactly what Luvu, Chinn, and YGM are going to look like.  I think they should sign a free agent or two to help us prepare our mocks.  Very rude of them.

The entire FA D-front are rentals.  Yes, we have players there this year, but I don't want to start a bunch of rookies in 2024.  D. Williams, Anderson, R. Williams--our project DEs are all on one year deals.  Tuttle is basically a two-year and I honestly don't like the fit at NT.  Roy sucks and is on his last year.  McCall has another year, but an unknown and we have not locked up Brown, who is in his final year. 

Funny how we sign some seat-warming pedestrian FAs for our D-line and everyone wants to gloss over it in the draft.

I will never complain about building up our trenches. OL/DL picks are always a welcome sight in the draft IMO. We need depth at both plus some eventual replacements as you stated.

surprised to see Johnston as the only WR above 6’, and he’s a medium sized 6’3”. No big guys this year.

I think there is some gold in the mid to late 4th round.  I would be 100% on board with trading back from #39 if we were able to pick up a late 3rd or early mid round 4th to add to our war chest.

Here is how I'd love to see it play out:

#1 - Young or Stroud - no preference

2nd - trade back towards the end of the round and pick up Derek Hall (OLB/DE)

3rd (93) - Eli Ricks (CB)

later 3rd - early 4th from trade - Mims, A.T. Perry, Rasheed Rice, or Cedric Tillman

4th (114) - Luke Schoonmaker (TE)

4th (132) - Colby Wooten (Big DE)

5th (145) - Vorhees (G) if he drops this far, can't pass up solid talent or Tyler Steen / Jalen Duncan to shore up our tackle depth

Tillman is 6’3” and has some potential. He was UT’s WR1 over Hyatt before he was injured. Maybe we can get him in the 3rd/4th?

You and I are definitely in love with the same gems later--I (personally) would add Tyler Scott, WR Cincinnati to your WRs at the end of round 3/early 4.  Vorhees will be recovering from surgery, but when he gets healthy, he can beast and play multiple positions.  Perfect developmental OL/depth for now.

Schoonmaker is the TE nobody is talking about but he is solid.

Of course it changes on draft day and all the boards and mocks fall apart after the first 20 picks or so, but I think the BPA is likely to be an Edge-I think there are 14 (about 10 of which would be good fits for the Panthers, imo) edge rushers in this draft that are good enough to start early.  However, someone will fall--and that is what makes picking early in round 2 interesting

Edge rushers and TEs are the strength of this draft class on paper. It'd be pretty sweet to come out of day two with one of each.

I actually like the idea of trying out Roy at NT. That's what he was in college and I think his natural Position. He's so big and wide (built like a square), I think he might thrive. If it works out, that give balance on either side with Tuttle and Brown.
