I keep telling ppl that listening to Scott Fitterer when he talks abt Young will give u a pretty clear idea of who he wants. That goes all the way back to November…

he is pretty upfront with what he thinks.

I have no idea who Reich wants, but I’m 100% sure Fitterer wants Bryce.

whether we actually draft Bryce, I don’t know, but I know that the GM wants him.

Eeehhh, no. We don't actually know that at all.

The Bryce Young alts aren't the brightest bulbs and are unfortunately doing the guy a disservice. Hopefully Panther fans aren't so put off by them they hold it against him. It's not his fault.

what makes me feel confident about this is that we don't have just one guy making the decision. Especially one arrogant, not as smart as he think he is, guy making this decision on a gut feel, unchecked.

What we've got is a TEAM of great coaches and talent evaluators from diverse experiences and backgrounds who will be making this decision. Obviously some opinions will carry more weight than others, but i' sure that whoever they get that it will be a great call and that they will have everything in place needed around this young talent to ensure success early.

What's happening with Lance now is one of the reasons why I strongly dislike the idea of taking a guy based on his athleticism rather than his actual quarterback skills.

Lance is shaping up to be one of the biggest busts of all time.

Not his fault though. He never should have been picked in the 1st.

Thanks for posting. I understand the whole bias thing being referenced here because I personally thought of Stroud as 1A and Young as 1B. However, I am starring to get the sense that they favor Young, as has many of the people in the media. So now I am starting to warm up to the idea of Young more and more.

Same. The "He had a little bit better arm than we thought.” comment suggests that he may have either passed Stroud or cemented his position above Stroud.

Heard Fitt's interview yesterday on Moving the Chains on Sirius.  He seemed to be gushing about Reich and the staff.  Spoke about what a great person Reich is and a well respected football coach......"a good football guys."  He said those qualities were why he was able to get the staff he did. Said he was able to "bring in the right people."  Interviewers mentioned how impressive it was to get Jim Caldwell.

Fitt said that Reich is "brutally honest but does it in the right way."

Also said the Teppers were excited about the staff ...."This is a chance for us to change the direction of our franchise."

Fitt really sounded happy and optimistic. He sounded relaxed. I bet the last 2 years were hell for him.

Or now maybe they are at the same level, or maybe he is still behind Stroud but the gap is closer, or he was way ahead and is now miles ahead, or…

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
