I want to fortify the trenches on the defensive line. Football is won in the down and dirty, and we need to strengthen this area above all others imho.

I know it's sexy to get a skill player, but value can be had later, and this draft isn't strong in that regard (WR) anyway.

ILB as I don’t think Thompson’s parter is on the roster (I see Luvu as an edge and Chinn as a rotational piece such as a big nickel).

If Jack Campbell is sitting there, I’d have a hard time passing him up.

Chinn might be a nickel but that's the predominant lineup. You might seldom have 4 "linebackers" on the field

It may be a tad high to pick him at 39, but I would love the pick.  He's one of the few truly off the ball lbs in the draft

That’s valid but in the cases that the team does run a true 3-4, there isn’t really another ILB on the roster. But yeah, the predominant lineup will probably be a 3-3-5.

Guys…yea…BPA is subjective pretty much after like the first 10-15 picks. That’s why our certified ‘straight BPA’ drafts that made little sense turn out  trash.

I say fug that and scope out your guy, then trade up or down to make it work. Make quality picks. Preferably a WR.

Of course this still requires diligence and competence from the FO which hasn’t been proven with results yet.
