My favorite small cities in the state are Boone, Asheville and Wilmington. As far as the large go, as I said in the other thread, they're all very generic imo. Raleigh and Charlotte are just ridiculous expanding sprawl with no soul but I think Raleigh has more character and life. I live on Lake Norman for what it's worth.

I have no idea why you would want to live in Wilmington other than the water. Also you better have home insurance because that place is hell whenever we get our yearly hurricanes.

Boone is nothing but a big forest. I like outdoors but I also like seeing a lot of people...

Asheville been there once for the Biltmore. Wasn't impressed there either.

Lovely Fayetteville (I legitimately have a soft spot for it despite it's inherent shittiness. Downtown is gorgeous in the spring).

Raleigh is better than Charlotte thanks to the life the colleges give it. And the Canes.

I was legit depressed when I lived in Fayetteville.

Downtown sucks literally just a block of coffee and sandwich shops. Go to Raleigh downtown it makes Fayetteville look like a backroad hole in the wall.

I mean aesthetically. The spring festival I went to in 2012 was great. Really liked the vibe. Not much going on but it felt cozy.

On the whole though, yeah fug Fayetteville. Sharky's scarred me for life

Ok..   to answer these type questions ,, one should ask themselves,  where do I like to vacation.... Because we go to places we like, enjoy.    I have never met some one that said,  " I'm going on vacation,  I'm going to Raleigh/ Charlotte/ Greensboro  etc.   NO !!!!   No one says they want to  go spend a week in any of those.

Try Charleston, Wilmington, ( beaches , arts, history, restaurants ) You can live on beach areas within 50 miles and enjoy.    One can say the same for  Asheville , Greenville SC,  High Country ( Boone area ) with their Mountains in lieu of Beaches.

Should I be from anywhere else but Wilmington,  Chaws'ton has to be number 1 ..  Kiawah, Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Seabrook etc.   Excellent Restaurants are everywhere.

I know one thing..  when traveling west from Wilmington up I 40 ..  all the traffic is headed in the other direction,,  toward  Topsail , Surf City, Wrightsville, Kure, Carolina, Oak Island, Sunset, Holden, Ocean Isle Beaches...

Charlotte and Raleigh are AWESOME! I'm so glad there are people who like the dystopian hell holes that we call "cities". Unfortunately, COVID and remote work capabilities opened a lot of folks eyes to life outside of dystopian hell holes. We need to convince more folks that the cities are where it's at.

Would I want to live there? Hell no! It's too damn hot.

    • What I really learned here is that the Carolina Panthers aren't anywhere near as bad as I initially thought they were earlier this year.  We've got a young and growing offense with some promising parts. But it still needs some tweaks and improvements.  We really still could still use a dominant #1 WR. But Chubba,  Legette, Coker,  and J.Sanders have generally looked decent. Bryce took a big leap after the benching. We can score enough points to keep pace with 2x defending super bowl champions, so offense isn't a huge issue. Main thing that needs improvement is defense. We sorely need a CB 2, and a number of new players at Dline and LB.  We're not quite as bad at edge with Wonnum showing promise.  But we definitely need 1 or 2 more edges Clowney is old.  Run D is probably worse prevailing theme these past couple years. We really need a good young stud or two to pair with Derrick Brown and another LB to pair up with Trevin Wallace. If Morgan and Canales can focus on rebuilding the defense this off-season and possibly going out and getting a #1 WR. This team could easily be somewhere around 7-10 to 10-7 and flirting with playoffs in 1 or 2 seasons. Overall this game has made me feel alot more positive about the direction of the team.
    • With our picks we need pass rush, lb, Safety, a speedster yac wr, o line depth and I still want a mid round qb. We got 9 picks and 8 in the first 5 rounds. If they pull Off another solid draft we be cooking.
    • We had one passing touchdown against the Giants and one passing touchdown against the Chiefs today. Yes a good backup can replicate that. And that is why Andy Dalton in significantly less games has the same number of 30 point outings as Bryce Young. I am on board with you guys about wanting to be hopeful for the future. Today was a good performance to build on especially at home. But let's please keep things in perspective. BTW the Bucs who honestly aren't even that good blew the doors off the Giants today after we went to overtime against them with 17 points. Again. Perspective.
