Stroud but would accept Young. Both could end up being great. But likely one will be more than the other. Tough call. But for me I'd say go with the better passer in what is now a passing league heavily dependent on the position.

Interesting that the Opening Post Chart  (though a small sample of the fanbase) showed that most fans voting, myself included, would rather have C.J. Stroud.

No idea if this a good or bad problem to have. Brain is telling me Young won't hold up, red flags galore about size.

Stroud feels like the safer pick, Youngs ceiling is so much higher. If you truly think he survive an NFL season you have to take him.

I find it ironic that the guys that want Young have never played professional football (Tepper/Fitt) while the ones that want Stroud understand just how much of beating your body will take being a starting QB. Just some food for thought.

A lot of times when there are a couple of highly regarded quarterbacks available in the draft, one of the top ones ends up being a total bust. Then afterward you hear people saying things like "How did we not see it?"

If that happens with one of the top two in this draft, I hope it's the one we didn't pick.

I just analyze the top QBs selected in pick 1 to 12 in 2000 to 2022. More often than not its the 2nd qb selected that ends up being a bust vs how often the first selected qb is a bust

12 out of 19 years (in 3  particular  years no qbs were taken in top 12 picks), the top QB was not a bust.

Young could be so incredibly good, but I just see Robert Griffin III getting killed out there and his career on the field just melting away so quickly.

Stroud is bigger, stouter and can make all the throws. Is he mobile enough? Maybe. If not that is his big weakness and we won't really know until his protection breaks down.

Both have massive upsides but a single chink in their armors.

Third pick would be Hendon. He can do this and he can lead a team. Just that injury is pretty worrisome. He would have had time to heal up, though, as we could run with Dalton for a game or two if needed. Had we stayed at #9 pick I'd have really wanted to see him get snagged by us.

As to Richardson and Levis, I agree wholeheartedly with @Mr. Scotthat I really don't like QB candidates that still need to be taught how to play QB. I think both are more hype and hope that reality at this moment.

Totally misread the poll.

I'm conflicted.  I think highly of both.  I'm leaning towards CJ Stroud though.  I feel like the floor with him is so high.  However I do think Young's elite playmaking ability could put him over the top in the NFL.

Personally as of right now I'm hoping we draft Stroud.

Young doesn't play RG3's game. RG3 was a runner who didn't protect himself and could really only make one read  at a time.

Young is a QB first but can scramble to extend plays, he doesn't actively look to run, think more Russell Wilson.

Young however might explode in the pocket if Myles Garret hits him because he is a skinny boy.
