I put panthro in the same spot as verge, both have called moves before they happened.

Add in the david carr stuff, its past time to start listen.....no matter the amount of peanut butter i forced into my ear tunnel..

theres still time, but too much to get the sand hole started...

There's been enough speculation out there linking the Panthers to every qb prospect that no matter which one is picked you will be right.

Let me tell you what I've heard from a source about who the Panthers are taking 1st overall. They say it's Bryce Young. But it could be CJ Stroud or Will Levis. But they say the wouldn't be shocked if it's Richardson in the final minutes.  But don't quote me on that.

If he is the pick I worry more about him finishing every season on IR than his ability at qb. I've always thought he's the best prepared of the class for the past 2 season's. I do not think he will be the best of the class long term in the nfl. I have concerns about the others as well but not so much about their chances of finishing a season.

This success of taking Young will come down to him staying off IR for 17 games and through the playoffs.  That is a huge gamble even if he's a great qb. His injury risk is much higher than the other qb's at this level I don't care what any of you say.

It's not just the injury risk - it's the style of play.

The mini-Mahomes comparison makes me cringe. Mahomes can play that way because he's got a ridiculous arm - that's the only reason those late throws work when he's freelancing.

With Young a lot of those are going to be INTs or incompletions - he has an average NFL arm.

His best chance of success is to copy Brees imo.

Stroud gets talked about in terms of mobility and running but his lack of scrambling ability is overblown.  He is very accurate on the move as a passer.  He is very accurate period.  Extremely impressed with his pinpoint passing from the pocket.  Probably has a slightly better arm than Young.  I personally think Young is a better processor.  Bryce is special there IMO.  Young is just better at the position at pocket awareness and playmaking ability IMO.  Young is a magician in that regard but Stroud is very solid as well.

The funny thing is Stroud learned to throw/play the position by watching Drew Brees videos as @ladypantherstated in another thread.

I agree that there are other concerns with Young. He's been working almost exclusively from the shotgun and I know that is due to his size limitations. It allows him time to see the defense reaction better from the snap, which is never mentioned.  There's a lot to critique in his game that just worries me long term. I have as many concerns with the others but on different things that I will not go into here. Let's just say none of them give me confidence our problems will magically be resolved on draft night.

Whoever drafts him might want to take the QB Sneak out of the playbook. It’s a shame because it’s a high percentage play.

I think there will be some limitations to your playbook with him. I hope I'm wrong if he is the pick. Get ready for the hobbit and midget jokes also.  Especially if he gets hurt.

Oh yeah the first batted ball the Huddle will riot. However if we pass on him the Huddle will riot when he has game winning drives.

The Huddle will riot no matter who is drafted or not draft. The thing to remember is no matter what the Huddle will riot. All they need is a reason.  Any old reason will do.

One thing that bugs me on going with Young over Stroud is upside.  I really don’t think we have seen the best from Stroud and he can get stronger and refine his game a lot.  It’s a difficult call without question

I think more focus is more on the now and not enough long term. That's how I'm looking at this. Who's going to have the longest career for me if everything else being equal? How much time do I need to invest to ensure that all is equal or better? Lots to consider when you invest this much capital in an unknown.

Huddle will bitch and moan about literally anything that happens.  Riot is a bit strong of a term. It's more like roosters crowing.
