That's not how the NBA works.

The richest owner in the NBA is the Clippers owner.

What have the Clippers won?

They may not have won any championships, but I’ll take their team over literally anything we’ve had the past 20 years.

I will miss having the GOAT as owner, but he wasn't putting the required resources in the team...There were several reports that head coaches passed up our offers becuase we didn't want to pay assistants. We were the exact opposite of Tepper and the Panthers.

These two guys in Woj's report...they aren't rich at all. I surely hope that some mega rich guy comes in an blows MJ away with an offer

I definitely won't. He was as bad as an owner as he was good as a player. Truly one of the worst owners in the NBA every year.

Damn.

The very least MJ could do at this point is to sell the team to a group that will take the Hornets to the next level.  Cash strapped owners would likely provide a poor product, diminish fan engagement and eventually fall prey to some billionaire looking for an NBA team to relocate.

Bobcats/Hornets can't seem to catch a break.

In the end Jordan is doing what he's always done. What's best for him. Sucks but it's the truth and why the team has been mostly crap.

Sad, but unfortunately true.

MJ really could have made a difference if he actually cared.

Look at Tepper, made some serious missteps over the last 5 years, but he seems to be making an effort to turn things around.  Can't ask much more of a team owner than that.

Hopefully, MJ can find a new owner for the Hornets that will finally give a damn.

This fanbase is in for a rude awakening if we expect some rando suits to care more about winning basketball games than Michael Jordan.

Yep. The two being talked about want the team because of their egos or that they believe it'll increase in value and make them wealthier. Winning a championship, reaching the playoffs, or just winning more games probably don't factor in at all.

I don't think it is because he didn't care, I think is is because of his ego and thinking he knows more than anyone because of his GOAT player status.

He surrounds himself with "yes" men who are all scared to disagree with him and he constantly meddles where he has proven time and time again he is clueless in.

Id bet that most of the outright terrible draft picks are all him.

MJ has been a disaster of an owner and he's going to sell to whoever offers the most $$$. If he didn't care about the Hornets' product on the court as the owner he's sure as hell not gonna start caring during the sell process.

Tremendous player. The GOAT. Atrocious owner.

I feel the same way, its been painful watching this play out. MJ all-world player and just the opposite as owner/GM. 20 fuging years too long to prove you dont have it. Please sell and allow a rebirth of the Charlotte hornets, first day fire alllllllllll his buddies and yes-men he that he gave important jobs too.

I want to become a hornet fan again.
