Yeah, it was an analogy that is somewhat misleading, unless the listener carefully parses the wording.  Even the other analysts needed clarification.

Sometimes picking the first QB is worse/harder than picking 2nd. There is a lot of pressure to get it RIGHT and in that, comes a lot of second guessing. Panthers are panicking in that FO, just due to the pressure of making sure you get the right guy.

A lot of experience in that room, I doubt t they are panicking. They do need to stick to their initial impressions going in though.

Charlie Campbell is the only one to watch imo. He has been on the money 100% for a very long time now on who the Panthers are going to draft. Right now, he says Young, but it could change.

Young is a true assassin on the football field capable of taking over games and carrying his team to wins. In 2022, Young completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,328 yards, 32 touchdowns and five interceptions. He picked up four touchdowns on the ground as well. Young (5-11, 194) took over as Alabama's starting quarterback in 2021, and there was a lot of hype about him in the scouting community. Some NFL sources believe Young's skill set and style of play are similar to those of Kyler Murray. In 2021, Young completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
