Too many questions for the asking price, sure he has a lot of talent but he has had injuries and time missed. Age is at a point where it could be a factor with these injuries too, is he gonna keep breaking down?

And this is lurking as an issue in my mind: players with leg issues and the turf at BOA may not be a good mix. So what does that mean? Maybe they won’t want to play on it. If they they do sign, and have history of leg or foot issues, how is that gonna play out? I would say it should be a concern.

He had nearly as many yds as DJ Moore last year playing half as many games and with Colt McCoy and Trace McSorley throwing him the ball. Also more catches on significantly less targets.

Not questioning his talent. At all.
Pointing out a possible cost vs risk imbalance. It isn’t, obviously, any good to have a player you have invested a lot in, being limited. And he has been. Just looking at that.

I don’t know the Cardinals that well, but losing teams accumulate a lot of yardage via passing, trying to play catch up. So I would look into where those numbers came from, which I am sure would be done.
As if I have any influence in the first place, they are not thinking of asking me what I think.

I would 100% be on board with this but the whole reason he wants out is his contract no? An extension he just signed 2 years ago?

That's what concerns me. If he is expecting 25million per season when he'll be 31 at the start of the season... I'm out on that. I'd rather take that money and spend it on Lamb, Higgins, or any of the younger guys coming through the next couple seasons.

Great players are highly paid.

You guys can't expect to get great players for cheap. Nuk is a #1 WR my man.

No disagreement. He immediately is our best receiver since 08 Smitty.

That said - how long is he going to be a great player. If he wants a deal paying him 25-30 million for longer than a year or two, 3 max (even that I don't feel great about that) then I'm out.

Take that money and put it towards one of the top young guns in FA next year who will be in Nuks situation now at the end of their contract rather than the beginning.

3 years is not a longterm commitment. I think he will be elite for at least 3 more years if that's what you're asking.

Im saying get a #1 WR because we have a rookie QB. You don't want him to start his career off slow because he has a lack of weapons. Every QB needs a go to WR or TE.

3 is the absolute most that I would want.

But what if he wants 5? What if he wants 4 tacked on in addition to his existing contract with high guaranteed money? Thats where I start to get a bit worried.

I would give our 3rd in a heartbeat for him to come here and just play out the last 2 years on his contract. No questions asked. I just worry thats not what we'd be getting.

And I agree, surround our QB with an embarrassment of riches on the offensive side of the ball. Do the exact opposite of what Hurney and Rivera did for Cam's career.

I just dont know that 5 years and 250 million dollars for Hopkins AND whatever capital we are sending out is the best way to do that

There is no chance he's looking for a 5 year deal.lol

He's looking for a 3 year deal at top WR money. That is a fair deal considering he's still a elite talent. For a 3rd round pick we just got a better WR than what we had with DJ.
