Dalton knows what he is at this point. 

Dalton is a junior version/extension of Frank Reich and Josh McCown who happens to wear shoulder pads and still plays at a decent level(primarily as a backup). Good signing that provides stability in your QB room that should mesh with your coaching staff.  
 

I see it as a good move.

Two years late, but Dalton to the Panthers was something I thought about.  I figured he's be a good bridge QB before the Cowboys signed him a couple seasons ago.

Probably one of the best options to mentor and back-up a young rookie. As much as people hate on Dalton as a franchise guy (he was limited physically etc) the guy knows how to be a pro and all the things that come with it. I consider it money well spent when we are drafting our future.

Andy Dalton is an adequate back-up QB. That is what this move is all about. More than likely hold the clipboard all season barring injury. Unless we draft AR15...which is too much of a gamble for me.
