2023 QB Draft Class has 2018 Draft Vibes

You lost me at Stroud compared to Darnold?  If I remember correctly Darnold impressed everyone on his pro day absolutely slinging it in the rain.  Darnold's tape had nothing on Stroud's.  Young and Baker is an absolute miss as well.  Young might be the opposite of Baker, they both are just short?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I personally do not see the Darnold/Stroud comparison and think it is forced to make a point in comparing two draft cycles.

Our QB coach, McCown, compares Stroud to Burrow, and I believe McCown has more expertise and credibility on the issue of quarterbacking relative to fans. I would be thrilled to have a QB that is comparable to Burrow, so hopefully he is correct and we go in that direction.

I think we should be thankful that we have, seemingly, a coaching staff that we can trust to make as sound a choice at QB as is reasonably possible.

Comparing QBs like this is really missing the mark. It’s like if you said before the Cam Newton draft that since Jamarcus Russell was also drafted 1 and had a similar physical profile that they were similar prospects.

Baker Mayfield, despite going #1, was not nearly the QB prospect that Bryce Young is. And that’s not a hindsight thing, that is based on pre draft. Not mock drafts or draft position, but actual grades. Likewise, grade-wise, there are some who had Josh Allen graded extremely high. Just for example, not saying he’s always right, but Mel Kiper had him as one of his top 10 rated QB prospects of all time (a list that also includes Ryan Leaf).

The comparisons aren't exact. But the ARGUMENTS are very similar. Darnold struggled with pressure in his face. Stroud does too. Darnold has NFL frame for a QB in comparison to Mayfield. That is also the argument for Stroud. They aren't the same player, but once again, the ARGUMENTS for/against the player are alike.

Horrible argument and comps.. If you don’t like the QB class that’s okay but don’t make bad comparisons.. And the whole Stroud see ghost thing is such a false statement made up by PFf analysis (that nobody can explain) and breakdown.. Watch both Michigan games, Notre Dame this year and Georgia.. He got hit rushed and taking off his spot a lot and unlike Darnold he didn’t go into a hole or a slump and it didn’t last a whole game…

I see a lot of people say that.  Then I see him giving future first round DL's the shake in a phone booth and dropping dimes versus Georgia.  Do I believe the talk or do I believe what I see?
