Great structure. Easy out after year 2 (only 1.8 million dead cap) and little cap hit this year. Btw how do we get these contract details but still have not seen anything on shaq’s new deal???

I can only assume Shaq’s deal isn’t finalized yet. Maybe we’re waiting to see how much we actually spend in FA to see how much of his salary we need to convert to bonus.

I'm curious if they see him as NT or end in the 3-4 base. Has there been anything said about this? I suppose we will hear more in the next week

I'm a McCall homer and would love to see a 3 man front of Brown/McCall/Tuttle

I think they see him as a NT primarily in 3-4 or DT in 4-3.

Brayvion Roy actually played quite well last year and can play NT also. Both are good run stoppers.

Henry Anderson (guy who had mini stroke last year) is also good against the run and can play DE in a 3-4. Not sure if he's under contract though

Didn’t know much about this dude but apparently he’s good against the run. Panthers defense has been horrible against the run since 2018 after Star left and Short got old

He'll fit right in because our run defense stunk last year compared to previous years, LOL.

2022 Saints defense vs. rush: 25th (attempts), 24th (yards), 14th (TD's), 20th (YPC)
2022 Panthers defense vs. rush: 23rd (attempts), 18th (yards), 21st (TD's), 12th (YPC)

We gave up 316 rushing yards to y'all last year and the Falcons went for 200+ in both games. 😅

With Tuttle being 6'3" 300, he projects to being a 3-4 Defensive end. You need a mammoth (McCall) at NT because all they are gonna see is double teams and they have to be stout at point of attack. They have to be able to force a double team to keep your inside linebackers free.

I know he was considered a NT in their 4-3 and maybe he's just got the technique and strength to play it in 3-4 but I agree. He does seem to project better to end.

Tuttle played around 320 last year according to the team website and they confirmed he will be our new NT

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
