I mean there's something to be said for drafting the most athletic person you can and hoping for the best but not in the second. 

panthers need people that can play, especially in the 2nd/back of the 1st. they dont need someone to groom for multiple seasons to play a different position.

Yep, this is not the season to go for huge "upside" types with little-to-no production. Rookie QB needs help right now, not 3 years later when the professional lights "may" come on...

In Thomas' career, he's had a made a whopping 111 catches for 999 yards and 4 TDs. So, maybe he can catch a cold after all, but not much more.

The guy has averaged 30 targets and 18.75 catches for the last 4 years. If you add in the 36 catches he made his rookie year, he's averaged a mind boggling 22.2 catches a season. He's totally worth it and just needs more chances...

Totally love this guy. During the NFL combine coverage they even said that his blocking is such that when he gets to toward the end of his career he would be able to play LT.

well this is stupid

UGA runs the ball fifty times a game, and he didn't play the second half for 75% of his time in college. 

horrifyingly he's not even the best tight end on the roster, but that's not a dig on him.

We were talking about Ian Thomas, not Washington. Heel31ok thinks Thomas just needs more opportunities instead of drafting a new TE.
