National media bias is real

Oh no, how will we replace his 888 receiving yards!

Funny but I assume you've been here as long as I have and the best WR's we've fielded before him through almost 3 decades were 89 Moose Brandon LaFell and briefly Kelvin Benjamin. He's already 4th in the all time receiving list. Downplay how not easy it will be though if it makes you feel better 😉

Yes - and that's why the overreaction to losing him.  We have to move past our mediocre expectations, we can do better.

Its more because we fed him the ball over the last 5 years, I can't remember many times were DJ simply took over a game, if at all. I think he's a possession receiver, like jarvis landry. Nice player to have, but someone you aren't sad if you trade. Trading for Hopkins would make this a much, much better WR unit.

Obviously he is not Hill or Jefferson or Chase. But the onus is on us to not only replace him but considering we discarded him we must find an even better replacement. Trading him was the easy part.

Well, the expectation is to always try to improve and strengthen your position(s).  But realistic expectations and context should always be a part of that calculation in my opinion. We don't have another first this year or next, so I think that the wise man takes that into account. Long term, I'd like us to replace DJ with a better player, but short term we may not be able to do that---may not be able to do that. What we should be able to do in my estimation is to improve the room, notwithstanding the loss of DJ. There are receivers in FA that can help us to that end (even another DJ). We will also have choices day two in the draft.

I'm not "happy" about losing Moore, but I certainly don't think it's the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination. New QB, new receivers, new offensive- minded HC: that's not a reason to be generally upset in my opinion.

Yep, with a few exceptions

CMC was in alot of NFLs commercials and videos

Cam was a spokesperson for a yogurt company , untill he said that women shouldn't understand football, then Dak took his spot

Other than that, the national media barely acknowledges our existence, Goodell told Mr Richardson that Charlotte will never host a superbowl, Smitty won't get in the hall because most of his accomplishments were made here , to the rest of the country we are a bunch of hicks who should stick to college bball, one of the reasons we got fleeced in sb50, it wasn't just about Peyton, the NFL doesn't want to market a Panthers superbowl win

It is us against the world, and we will always be underdogs

Jarvis Landry in his prime is a good comparison. Somebody who can rack up yards, run good routes, but minimal TD upside. I don't see DJ Moore all of a sudden scoring a bunch of TDs.

Steve and Luke get the minimal credits, they can't be ignored completely, but you're delusional if you don't think they would have been put on much higher pedestal if they played in bigger markets

Luke was routinely regarded as the best MLB in football, earning DPOY honors twice when he was playing and of course Steve would have gotten more attention if he played in a bigger market, just like literally any other player, and doesn't imply a bias against Carolina specifically. Your own bias is strong here with those two.

Are we looking to be the victims of something? This is what happens when your franchise has been around as long as us and has never even had winning back to back seasons.

And we forget the good moments quickly. For weeks every time I turned on ESPN or NFL Network all I heard about was what an all star coaching staff the Carolina Panthers put together.

Even now you can turn on a show and the media , when we were at 9, was talking about how we are an ideal landing spot for a young QB due to our offensive line, Moore, and our coaching staff.

We don’t have tons of money right now to spend on free agents and you aren’t going to convince the best ones to come here to play with a rookie QB. Same with TE. We traded away our only good WR who has been consistent in his NFL career despite how many trash tier QBs have thrown him the ball.

Draft a WR? Most non first rounders don’t put up monster stats year 1.

Draft a TE? None of them put up stats outside of Kyle Pitts and there’s no Pitts in this class.

We need to accept that we thought we might be a playoff team even with a rookie QB because of how bad our division is to we are probably still a middling team again.

Atlanta could grab a QB and they’ll have London, Pitts and Patterson as weapons to help the kid out.

Carr with Thomas , Kamara and Olave looks nice on paper.

The Bucs look bad but a healthy Evans and Godwin are more than we can offer a young QB.

And guess what? If we don’t surprise folks we are going to be picking in the top ten again next year…but the Bears will own our pick. So no shot at a Marvin Harrison JR.

Its not a national media bias… we haven’t deserved the love.

With Cam and Luke we had like 3 winning seasons in 9 years. For a QB and MLB who can take over games that’s not good enough.

It is hilarious that the football world acknowledges how solid DJ is yet we still have fans that think he's at best a WR2.

Gotta admire the commitment by some folks. It's a commitment to stupidity, but it's a commitment nonetheless.

DJ is solid not elite, which is the narrative right now.
