would you trade jonathan stewart...

1. Campbell will choose not to re-sign with Washington, thus becoming a FA (the CBA will be signed... Too many people will lose money if it doesn't, and we can't have that happening, can we?)

2. Stewart has allowed our run game to remain consistent the past couple years. He's shown he can be a valuable support player as well as a full blown starter. It's the recent trend in the league to have a 2 back system, and in our offense (barring dramatic scheme shifts with new coaching staff members) it's important to remain consistent on that front. Sorry, but the Sutton praise is a little high at the moment, and it's unrealistic to think of him as that big of a roleplayer.

Therefore, no, I would not do this trade. We need to keep our best players, and Stewart is one of them. The same goes for Peppers and Smith, neither of which will be going anywhere via trade either.

Bring Campbell in as a better-than-Delhomme option for a few years and see what he can do. He's got more talent and as unrefined as it might be, he is better than Delhomme by a large margin. There are no QBs in the draft this year or next that would be worth the risk of throwing into that type of fire, especially with team chemistry seemingly on the verge of total collapse as it is, and we don't have the adequate means to obtain a high enough pick to take one of the "might be's" out there anyways.

Stick to your money plays. Wear out defensive lines with a double shot at RB, find ways to get one of the best WRs in the league open, and let the QB manage the game as opposed to throwing it away. Campbell is more mobile, more accurate, and knows when to throw the ball away (despite some here claiming he "holds onto it way too long").

It's also amusing that I see some that were SOOO on board for us to draft Pat White dissing Jason Campbell.

yeah they're nothing alike at all but way to just compare him to another black qb

It doesn't matter if two black quarterbacks are built differently, run differently and throw differently, the Huddle will inevitably draw some comparison between the two. They could be as disparate as Warren Moon and Michael Vick, and yet some enlightened soul will wax philosophic about how Carolina's offensive system doesn't bode well for mobile quarterbacks.

Sam, what happened the last time we brought in a 1st round FA QB who 4-5 years into his career was inconsistent with a losing record but was still being rated on "potential"? Didnt work out to well did it? There are legit questions about Campbell, thats why he will be available.

And Pat White represented a bigger problem. We need to draft a QB. Even if we bring in Campbell, its time for us to grow up and be like the winning franchises in the NFL. Its time we leave the t-shirt & denim jeans in the dresser and grab that nice blazer & those slacks out of the closet. We need to get our grown man on and not be afraid to draft & develop our own guy no matter black, white, blue, or grey. We'll reach like hell or move up for a "raw" DB or a "project" DE in the early rounds, but wont address QB, the most important position on the football field.

First, we need a staff who can do it.
